The Okapi.

Zebras are awesome. Giraffes are awesome. Thus, the okapi is the coolest animal ever.

that is obviously fake
Totally fake. Go back to 4Chan, noob.
:)
real animal man go ask a zoo keeper or just go to a major zoo.

OT: Dogs and wolves- dogs are the most loyal animals in the world theyll fight and die to protect their masters and wolves will do the same for their family:)

Pandas. My science teacher was saying they were an evolutionary fuck up, and it was a waste to try and defend them. I leapt to their defense, and have loved them ever since.

Definitely Praying Mantis. Most bad-ass insect of life. Unless someone can point me in the direction of another insect...

Tuataras, because aside from having their own clade, interlocking sets of teeth, and a third eye, any species that can remain reproductively active at over 100 years of age deserves respect. Also, they are so damn cute.

Seen a lot of love about for my favourites already - Axolotl FTW! - but I'm gonna have to throw out the Honey Badger.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_badger
Saw a documentary about them, totally awesome creatures. Point one, they mate 'energetically' for 3 days. Point two, they've evolved the most fantastic defence mechanism ever. Not poisonous, not fast, not clever, not spiny, not camouflaged...they're just so tenacious and vicious, they're functionally unkillable. A hungry lion will walk past a honey badger, because it's not even worth trying to kill the damn things.
Bloody-mindedness as a defence! What's not to love about that?!?

And yet...the Armadillo has not been said yet... Anyways I think these guys are really cute, i mean who doesn't like a heavily armoured over sized rodent? They were my favourite ever since i saw them on the discovery channel.

Has to be the humble otter. I mean they really have this life thing sorted; just lazing around on their back in the water, chillaxing with there family and being damn cute all the time.

The octopus. There's just something so serene and alien about them, coupled with the fact that they're downright squishably adorable. And there are so many interesting types, like the Dumbo octopus:

Or the blue-ringed octopus:

The Colossal Squid. It's huge and it's Sinobite-esq hook-arms allow it to rip it's enemies to shreds.

Also: tentacles in general are freaking delicious. Sure, the colossal will probably say you humans are yummy in it's tummy but at least you can eat it's delicious little children for a while.

Wolves, because they're like dogs, but more badass, and better all around (to me at least). It achieved that status once I realized how awesome they would actually be t have as a pet.
