Samurai Champloo - mainly for one episode only. That would be "Baseball Blues", because dammit, it made me laugh. A lot.

Alright then, I have officially made an arse of myself. I joined myanimelist this morning to catalogue all my stuff and a couple minutes ago I put in She, The Ultimate Weapon, which I have now discovered is the English name for Saikano. I've only seen the first few episodes so far, but it is very good.

...Mine for example is Bobobo-Bo Bobo-Bo... Bobobo was my favorite just because of how random it was; it went beyond random, it had obvious comedy, so blunt you could knock someone out with it!
NICE and for a great reason, too

OT: I'd say maybe Seto no Hanayome, for the same reasons, or Minami-ke. I love a blissful Anime, so either Minami-ke, Azumanga Daioh, or Sketchbook ~Full Color'S~.

Also, to anyone who says they like "everything" by Studio Ghibli, you should go out and see Grave of the Fireflies. I saw that, expecting an uplifting story... and I got completely floored.

That movie is, without a doubt, the most DEPRESSING movie I have ever seen in my life. Seriously, I'm an upbeat kinda guy, and I was moping for DAYS after seeing it. Just... geez.
Grave of the Fireflies is a GREAT movie, but yes it is DEPRESSING. The two traits are NOT mutually exclusive.

Whoa there, I did NOT say that it was a bad movie. Quite the contrary, Grave of the Fireflies is one of the most brilliant films I've ever seen. It's just that I went in expecting classic Ghibli charm and got a story so depressing that it makes the Bambi's mom scene look uplifting by comparison.

I sorry if I misiterpreted your post. But when you challenged all the people that said they like all Ghibli films to watch Grave of the Fireflies it sounded to me like you were implying that those people would change their minds about liking "everything" Ghibli.

I hope you can understand how I might have misinterpreted your statement.

...and yes, Grave of the Fireflies does make Bambi look like a really happy movie.

EVERYONE should watch Grave of the Fireflies... EVERYONE. It is the most emotionally powerful movie (animated or otherwise) that I have seen.

My personal favorite is Rozen Maiden, which isn't as girly as it sounds despite the fact that it has to do with dolls (that have kick ass powers and are essentially fighting for their lives).

I also love Yami to Bōshi to Hon no Tabibito (roughly translated into Darkness, Hat and Book Traveler) - young girl falls in love with mute girl; mute girl suddenly disappears; young girl finds out that mute girl is like the magic center of the universe and her and a adorable lesbian friend with a giant hat travel through books (and likewise, time periods) in order to attempt to find her.

While people exclaim it's a repeat, it's always nice to refresh if the other threads get buried, and now I have some new anime to check out! :D

Tied for 1st place is Higurashi and Darker than Black. I cannot belive no one said Darker than Black. They even have full subbed episodes on youtube. You need to watch Darker than Black, has a great story, and the best fighting scenes I have seen in an anime.

Tied for 2nd place is Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood and Shuffle. At least 1 person said Shuffle. Its slightly similer to school days, in which it all seems happy, then gets crazy and sad near the end.
