The New Pornographers are my favorite band, though they may have secretly broken up as all the key members are releasing solo efforts at the moment.

I won't let you suffer alone, from ages 18-23 they were my favorite band as well... then I discovered Indie Rock. They're still ONE of my favorite bands though.

Ah, good to know I'm not the only Escapian who at least doesn't hate them. In my noobier days on the Escapist, I started a thread about U2 (about album recommendations, to be precise) and got torn to shreds.

MUSE - they're the bestest
Im with you. They are not only a brilliant album band but they are a SPECTACULAR (fully deserved capitalization) band.

I also want to know if anyone knows of a band called 'Redfun'? I got one of their CD's mistakenly as it was in the wrong case, i listened to it anyway and it was the incredible. They dont seem to exist on the internet and no one knows anything about them. They have not yet been matched in brilliance.

That is the logo, this is all that i know. (this is the only thing to come up when you put them into Google, this and an old disused blog)

Flogging Molly. now, if i can find at least ten other people on this site who's heard of them, all will be right in the world.
Count me as one of the 10. They're supposed to be coming to town soon and I've been trying to convince my friends to go with me (I hate going to concerts alone, it's just weird)
Figured everybody had heard of Flogging Molly... guess I'd have to go with Bob Marley and the Wailers.

no problem with liking U2, they have a very strong repertoire, especially in the early 80's and early 90's (War and Achtung Baby are on my top album play lists). They've royally sucked in my opinion for the last few albums and should probably hang it up- but if some people like them, why stop.

I've heard of Floggin Molly, hate them probably cause I hate Irish Music (as in pub-music) and the Pogues are a far superior Celto-Punk band.

All time favorite... that is tough... changes with mood, but right now the Cure and Radiohead probably.

Porcupine Tree.

They've been my favourite band for a while now, actually.
