Just because Light was the protagonist doesn't mean we have to root for him. This is the first series I have seen where the readers decides who they want to root for; rather than having it decided for us by getting it shoved down our throat.MaxTheReaper said:Anyway, Light was the protagonist!
You were supposed to root for him, not against him.
Yeah, it's a shame how he went all crazy-mode at the end, there. If he had played it a bit differently at the end, he might've lived.
yea... i have already said i was sorry and will accept lashes on the morrow.MaxTheReaper said:Those were spoilered for a reason, y'know.Gigaguy64 said:WHY L!!!!!!
light's death was very stasfying to me. (probbly i live seeing the antagonist getting his, especaly if he kills my favorite character.)
i love gannon's death in Whind Waker.
the game started out as cute and childesh then got darker, and darker, and darker untill finaly gannon gets a sword planted and then watered in his brain.
loved it.

Oh yeah, I remember that. That left me a bit empty inside. At the time, I was wondering what my gf was crying about since I started the series a few years later.sarahvait said:Deaths that made me sad: Fushigi Yuugi, FFVII, FFX and FFX-2, Persona 3, Lord of the Rings (movie)
Nuriko in Fushigi Yuugi. Man, I bawled my eyes out. I haven't actually seen the other deaths, though I do know who else dies. But that one still gets me.
Spoonyone FTW!seb2net said:In PHANTASMAGORIA: A PUZZLE OF THE FLESH!!! a guy gets his hands pierced with pancils, mouth stapled shut with an industrial stapler and finally cut from stem to stern with a box cutter. All live action!!

Like this...well, borderline. It was an incredibly awesome scene, but the actual death caught me absolutely off-guard.Braxton said:I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, but you can't forgetKamina. It was tragic
Aeris's death in Final Fantasy 7. I cheered so much.crimsonyte said:So, what's everyone's most memorable death scene?
I think death scenes in games/movies/novels should always leave a lasting impact on the viewer. If it didn't, then I feel that the character wasn't developed enough and a connection was never establish. To me, a memorable death scene should solicit some form of strong emotions, enough to cause you to scream at the scene or consider boycotting the game/book/movie. For me, I consider the death in FF7 memorable, but the death in the last Matrix movie pointless.
One of most memorable death for me is in Code Geass when Leloch dies. It showed that he never deviated from his ultimate goal, the music set the perfect mood, and his sister humanized him for all his past actions.
The other most memorable death came from David Eddings' book series The Elenium when Kurik. I didn't touch the book for a week after I read the death chapter.
