My current favorite is DMT being illegal. Before I go and explain this...

I AM IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM PROMOTING THE USE OF DRUGS. EVER. Now then...

DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) is a naturally occuring psychadelic that is found, in trace amounts usually, in many plants, animals and all humans. This occurs in humans through a gland in the brain called the pineal gland, and the pineal gland is developed in the fetus roughly 49 days into the pregnancy. Yet, DMT is listed as a Schedule 1 drug in the US and for most of the International community, meaning it is illegal almost anywhere you go in the world.

So, basically what this implies is that every person, who has ever lived and currently living, is a manufacturer and user of illegal narcotics.

Boy the world workforce is gonna take a hit once that gets realized...
Just because a substance is made by the body doesn't mean it's safe. HGH and steroids specifically are found in almost all forms of life plants and animals, but obviously your body carefully monitors the amounts given. It is true that almost any human could be given small doses of steroids and slightly improve many physical performances, but if it was truly an advantage to have a lot more steroids in our bodies it would probably already produce them.

I don't know about DMT, but it like many "natural" and "safe" drugs probably fucks with our reward system and dopamine secretion.

Yep after a quick wikipedia search DMT fucks with your serotonin levels. Probably safer than a lot of drugs out there, but certainly not as safe and organic as you make it out to be.

Feminists who demand that they're treated equally, yet horrified if hit/disrespected by a man. If you want to be treated like a man, that includes the negative ways we treat other men.

Christian religions that state you have to accept Jesus to get into Heaven, when Jesus is the (supposed) son of God, who last time I checked had a big rule about Who's Number 1.
This is gonna be quick and dirty (aka lies) so that you don't say something this ignorant again.

Jesus and God aren't separate people. Jesus is the part of God that God decided to send to Earth to get our shit together.

man tells an insanely offensive joke to another man- offended party needs to get over it
man tells same joke to a woman- lawsuit

Slavery, barbaric wars in which pregnant women and children were slaughtered, arranged marriages, polygamy, and all those Old Testament things that Christians tend to think are so awful in modern times were perfectly acceptable thousands of years ago because of the cultural context and because "God said so". Then they talk about how bad atheism is because of moral relativism.

Oh, just thought of a good one:

Pharmaceutical or Bio-Med company X wants to market a product. The company is accused of being profit driven and greedy and heartless. By naturalist, hippie sponsored company Y sells a "natural alternative" for an even more exorbitant price and yet they are NOT accused of being profit-driven.

A pharmacy sells a pack of glucosamine pills for 60 dollars? EVIL CAPITALISTS they're called! A "health guru" wants to sell you a magnetic bed or a bottle of homeopathic water for 100+ dollars? WHOLESOME HELPERS they're called!
Definitely this.

The same thing applies to journalism. Mainstream media is all just propaganda and we should all resist when they want to manipulate our emotions with their charming presenters lest we become conformist sheeple, and they're all just profit driven, while Alex Jones is a freedom fighter and crusader of the truth as he yells about sob stories and is interrupted sporadically with some ad for emergency food stocks or subscription fees.

I'm not really implying mainstream media has a whole lot of integrity to begin with, but I don't like when people accept anything "alternative" because they've demonised anything mainstream.

Meat eaters/vegitarians. When i have a vegitarian over for dinner, i respectfully ensure they have something suitable and nice. When i go to their house i do not get cooked a burger or steak but have to eat there crappy vegi food rubbish.
It's sort of like having a Muslim or Jewish friend and expecting them to cook you some bacon for breakfast because you catered to their non-pork needs when they were guests.

I'm vegetarian, and I think it would be unreasonable of me to expect vegans to supply dairy or eggs if I came over for dinner just because I respected their choice to abstain from consuming those products at my house. I wouldn't expect them to violate their moral convictions because of the unlikely chance I'm some weird borderline OCD person who can't stand the thought of eating any food without animal products in it.

My favorite double standards are societal archetypes.
specifically
-anything involving gender rolls. "a few have been mentioned"
-anything involving gender bias to sex. "a few have been mentioned"
-anything involving the same for race. "a few have been mentioned"
etc.

Any religion can talk bad about, condemn, and mock atheism.
But god forbid (No pun) any atheist make a joke degrading religion, or everyones up in arms. :/
You kidding? I always see the exact opposite. People everywhere are constantly mocking various religions (this very website, most tv (Family Guy, South Park "You're such a Jew", Simpsons, many more), most professors, most students, ect ect), but people from different religions are just supposed to take it, or suddenly they're "religious extremists" for not wanting people to talk shit about what they believe.

People don't give a damn if an atheist belittles a religion.
I am simply speaking from experience, I tend to be more tolerant of other's beliefs and cultures, while i am shunned for being an atheist.

I don't wanna start any fights or ruffle any feathers, but a very good example of this is Stephen Hawking saying "There is no heaven". Such a stink about that.

Think about this, if a good christian man wants to share the "Word of god", it doesn't seem to bother anyone. But if someone starts passing out fliers saying "Religion is Foolishness", people are pissed. ;)
Im pretty sure passing out flyers that say "religion is foolishness" would piss me off as well as the majority of the religious people in the area.

You should see that people take said flyer as A personal insult not A friendly suggestion.

sorry a f to m transsexual all ready stole the title of first pregnant guy (which i think kind of unfair) you will have to settle for first completely genetically male (just in case of chimeras) human to give birth

If your key opens many locks then you have a master key.

If your lock is opened by many keys then you just have a shitty lock.

Not necessarily a belief of mine, but I found it the above amusing lol.
Not to be a dick or anything, but it all comes down to effort. For a guy to bang a lot of chicks (to be a lothario) there is considerable effort required whereas for a girl to bang a lot of guys (to be a "slut") not so much.

In fact, I'd like to hear from a girl who can't find a guy to bang her. I'm not talking about love, companionship, or any such lovey-dovey crap like that. I'm talking about good ol' banging.

I don't agree with the double standard by the way, I'm just saying...

MY all time favorite that applies heavily to a lot of my friends and my location (Utah, lots of Missionaries going out and in.)

Guy likes girl, finds out she's underage (he isn't), girl doesn't like guy, guy is called a pedophile.
Girl likes guy, finds out he's legal (she isn't), guy likes/dislikes girl (doesn't matter), girl claims its totally fine and he's NOT a pedophile if he likes her.

Applies to my location because a buddy of mine was victim of the first and I know FAR too many girls who are 15-17 falling head over heels for return missionaries (usually around the age of 21) and claim they wouldn't be pedophiles for liking them.

The point was that the natural is made illegal and that is a double standard, not that is was "safe". Organic, yes, as that same wikipedia search should have told you the pertinent information regarding that. Getting back to the double standard, what I mentioned fell into the same category as this double standard:

Also, give "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" by Dr. Rick Strassman, MD a read; you'll be more informed about DMT and the hypothesis that surround it. Serotonin is involved with DMT, but there's more to it than just chemical levels.

When men pee standing up, it's fine. But when women do it it's weird.

Great oppurtunity for a South Park reference there.

As always I defer to TV Tropes when disseminating information. The article is shockingly exhaustive and is guaranteed to generate at least a little anger (and incidentally, as with everything to do with TV Tropes comes with the standard warning about how it will eat hours of your time). Personally however, there are a few that constantly enrage me from both their nature and their prevalence amongst humans:
Wooooo here we go.

Acceptable targets - Certain groups of people are allowed to be mocked, ridiculed, or even portrayed as inherently dispicable, but other groups aren't, for entirely arbitrary reasons. There is no reason why portraying the US as full of fat idiots or Japanese as racist perverts or Russians as drunk louts is any less offensive than portraying any African people as primitive tribals or any Arab people as towel-wearing warmongers. Either it's all acceptable, or none of it is.
Not sure what to say about this, except that everything is an 'acceptable' target so long as a person can think, if ya get what I mean. Basically if you can judge something, go ahead and judge it. Its not a person believing in this thats message up, its entire society's believing in this thats messed up.

Acceptable hobbies - Someone who obsesses night and day about Local Sports Team #14, following every game and learning every single facet of their history is perfectly fine. But if someone displays that same level of obsession for a book series or a game, then they're pathetic nerds that live in their parents' basement and will never have sex.
I'm not 100% on this one. To me it seems all people with some sort of fixation on something are seen as pathetic.

Crossdressing - Females are allowed to wear pants, suits, and other "traditionally male" clothing with little mention, but a male wearing dresses, high-heeled shoes or cosmetics is either a sexual deviant or mentally ill.
True, to society. Though then again a man wearing chicks clothing would be more...extravagant than the other way round.
Personally if I saw a male crossdresser I would be freaking the hell out, but I wouldn't at a female one because its less obvious and much less outlandish.
Yeah I know, sounds stupid.

Femininity - Displaying any conventional or typical feminine characteristics at all instantly means a female character is a bad role model and reinforces negative sterotypes, regardless of anything else about the character.
True, but this isn't so much because the attractive female is attractive, its because the attractive female is usually just a shitty character anyway, so this point of view is to me quite understandable.
Name five widely considered to be attractive and somewhat sexualized female characters in media which have considerably more to them then their looks, because I sure as hell can't.

Sex vs Violence - Bare breasts will get a film or series a more restricted classification than killing hundreds of people on-screen, and bare genitals will almost never get anything than the most restricted classification, while graphic torture can scrape past on the second or even thrid highest. This is only merely a well-understood example however, and I only use it because including more detail would keep me here all day.
Quite possibly the most ridiculous double standard ever. Its so ridiculous I can hardly believe it, so then I just think back on all the other fucked up double standards humanity has created and reinforced and remember, "Oh yeah, we're all fucktards."

Heterosexual romance vs homosexual romance - Every piece of fiction, ever, is required to feature some sort of heterosexual relationship, regardless of its inanity or poor writing. Any homosexual relationship is either shoved into the background (because gays are icky but we like their money), shoved into the foreground as if two people of the same sex in a romantic relationship is supposed to be praised as something new and innovative, or completely ignored as even a possibility.
True. However, I present ye with two words;

Brokeback Mountain

EDIT: Actually nevermind. Now I getcha.

Rape - Holy shit, I hate this one so much I can barely even joke about it. For females, either rape is a compliment meaning that people find them attractive, simply a male "mastering" a particularly disobedient partner who "obviously" wants it, or even a perfect basis to begin a relationship (fortunately, this one has managed to recently fall out of favour). For males, either they can't be raped at all, it's a subject of mocking and laughter, or just punishment for some discretion.
Rape. Sucks.

And thats all I have to say about that.

No. If there was a comedian making a joke mocking the French for being cowards, or the Russians for being drunk, or the Japanese for having sick fetishes, or New Zealanders for fucking sheep, the audience would laugh with them. But not even Yahtzee could get away with making a joke about black people being violent and loving shiny things without showing photos of him smiling with a black person. It's this relentless double standard, that some groups can be mocked and some can't, that annoys me.

I'm not 100% on this one. To me it seems all people with some sort of fixation on something are seen as pathetic.
You obviously have even less interaction with society than me. Sports fanatics are manly and patriotic. Video game fanatics are friendless, unwashed nerds. This is a very endemic view, and I don't believe you haven't encountered it.

Inara Serra (Firefly). Amy Pond (Doctor Who). Alyx Vance (Half-Life 2). Nanoha Takamichi (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha). Yoko (Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann). And that was just from memory; give me an hour or so and I can drown you in names.

Thank you for agreeing with me on my other points.
