Vault 101. I was born and raised there... I was essentially kicked out of my home... and then i returned out of the kindness in my heart to preserve it... then I got kicked out again... AMATA YOU B***

Evergreen Mills. This is an interesting place. You have to kill all of Smiling Jack's friends in order to get to him and he does not care that you did it. It was also where I found out how tough Dogmeat was when Broken Steel is attached. I was standing on the cliffs outside the town launching grenades into whatever was moving when the dog went to the Behemoth pen and proceeded to kill the thing.

The deep swamp of Point Lookout, between the boardwalk and the detention camp.

The sloshy water and the crickets absorbed my senses in a way the Capital couldn't.

Also, radioactive hillbillies. What's not to love?
...so just your regular, garden variety hillbillies then.

And there's way too many amazing places to choose just one. That place with the two "super heroes" was fantastic. And Tenpenny Tower has such a nice view. But my favourite was probably Tranquility Lane. Little girl with creepy old man voice, dog that's actually my dad and a bunch of random commies? Sheer brilliance.

Ok, booting up Fallout 3 right now for some play time. Just thought about how Vault 106 warps with your head. And was wondering:

What is everyone elses favorite place in F3? Doesn't even have to be favorite, maybe just the place that sticks out most.

For me it's Vault 106/82 and The Family's place.

Whats yours?
106 nearly drove me insane in RL, i got so horribly horribly lost, and the visions as well and and ARRGH! the mad survivours were actually a relief to find sometimes.

personally if i want chill/get paid obscene amounts of money just for walking around, i go rileys rangers. If i want a fight i like to run around the trenches outside the whitehouse... well creep warily anyway.

Probably the entirety of Washington DC. I just loved exploring in there and finding little places like Radiation King and the house with the robot that does a poem.

Also all of Point Lookout. God damn that pilot had one HELL of a last stand.

any thoughts about why he was there were Rapidly drowned out by 'mysniperriflemysniperriflemysniperriflemysniperriflemysniperrifle.'

I'm about the only Fallout 3 player who genuinely just loved wandering the random wasteland, so for me I'd go with all the bits between all the proper locations.

Megaton, because it exemplifies why I loved the atmosphere the game had in it's early stages.
Junktown and empty isolated wastes.

Before the Enclave came and killed it slightly. You can't even go anywhere without running into a research outpost in and around DC.

Underworld, museum of technology, Point Lookout, the Pitt, the super fortress I made Big Town into after everyone died, damn I love it all.
Fortress? You can make Big Town into something other than a place to look at miserable retards?
yes. I had a house simply devoted to guns. I had a house for dogmeat to live in. I found all the bobble heads at my house in megaton and then never went back.

Every time I saw one of those I felt levels of glee because they always seem to have good stuff, scrap metal and bottlecap mines and such. I got a good bit of my blueprints from there.

Trappers house in point lookout stood out for me, it even has a free Deathclaw Hand you can take, made remaking and repairing my gauntlet go by right quick.

I would choose the hollowed rock near megaton for one of my "Stands out" choices but I could never find it.

I always thought the Obelisk in the Dunwich building was suspicious, when I found out it was used to destroy a unique object for mere Karma I found it quite useless. I'm a collecter in such games, unique or semi-uniqie equals under any circunstances to me.

My Megaton house was always a good place for me, somewhere to store my Drugs, Quantams, and miscellaneous objects.

You think that's fun?
Try listening to music so you don't hear the plane that drops nukes on you and kills you.

My last save was right before fast traveling to raven rock or whatever it was called and then walking almost all the way to rivet city before getting blown up.

I really liked Minefield - it was like Tranquility Lane, only a lot more delapidated and wasteland-ish. A perfect combination, in my opinion.

I love that place. If you ever turn god mode on and walk to the highest point of radiation, you can get around 2500 rads. I turned god mode on and found a dead scientist with a radiation suit and either rad-away or rad-x. I cannot remember...
