Tauren, Furbolgs, Gnolls, and Dragonborn for me. If North America was actually named North Mulgore, the colonial expansion would have turned out a helluva lot differently.

For my Fantasy race (the one I mentioned earlier was Si-Fi) I'd have to say the dwarves in general, since a misplaced scottish steryo-type is the closest thing we Irish will get in order to appear in a video game.
I dunno, Halflings are pretty Irish. Sort of.

Halflings (or as Tolkien called them: Hobbits, name changed due to legal stuff) are originally meant as a metafor for the stereotypical English country dweller according to Tolkien himself.

I fucking love the Gorons from The Legend of Zelda. I love the sounds they make, and their just kinda cool.... mostly for the sound.

As a race, either Dark Elves, for being awesomely evil, S&M elves of doom, or Necrons for being awesomely evil, unstoppable robot undead of doom, with much flaying of skin involved.

I say yes, and they were brilliant, definately the best vampires ever, having a conversation with a television and convincing a woman that you're her childhood pet turtle has never been quite so fun.

Since humanity is not a fantasy race, it's a tie between Dwarves and Warhammer Orks....

If all a game has are Dwarves and Orks fighting each other, I won't complain that there's something missing.

Dwarves. Yes, I know, they're not really an original choice, and I'm sure I could think of some other fantasy races I really like if I thought longer about it, but they're definitely one of the first that come to mind. There's just something about stoic & stubborn warriors with axes, chain mail, guns and steampunk technology that appeals to me.

Really hard to say given that lots of games have different takes on races. Take the World of Warcraft orc for instance. I love how they are so loyal to each other and have the wonderful backstory. They are brutal warriors to the enemy, but to other orcs, friends, allies and blah blah. But personally, I still prefer the traditional Tolkienish view of the elf. A mysterious nature bound race, immortal and very wise in the ways of arcane and magic. But still being very flawed in the fact they isolate themselves so much from the goings on the bigger world. So hard to choose just one...

New the forums so thought it be nice to get in my first thread about one of my favorite topics.

Like the topic says just list your favorite fantasy race from any game, book, movie, etc. Because there are so many different kinds and different variants on the same ones give a little bio or description about them.

For me I gotta side with the Skaven from the Warhammer world. These "Rat-men" throughout the books, video games, and the table top are just the wildest race. Ranging from Rat Sniper teams to Rat Ninja squads to the Rat Wizards the models for the table top and their special rules make any game going up against them a blast. And in the books they are shown as a race constantly back stabbing each other to gain power and it was always fun to read about their efforts to sabotage their opponents and having every attempt backfire onto themselves from blowing up a Steam Tank in their own tunnels to release a plague into their own troops by accident.
Does it have to be a fantasy race or can it be a sci-fi race too? Cause I don't have a favorite fantasy race, but if it was Sci-Fi, I would pick the Sangheili.

I'd say the Gorgo Giants from Blue Dragon. They are a race of people split up into two sub races, the chilled out and logical big ones and the mystical smaller ones. I think they are a really cool race of Giants, plus their women are damn fine.

halflings, you have to admire someone the size of a child but can take out any of the other races in a knife fight (although this may because they stabbed them in the back)
