As a kid, it would have been Martin of Redwall.

As an adult... hmm... dunno. I have so many faves. ;-;
Ryoga Hibiki from Ranma ½ most likely, since I've been a fan of that series for decades. lol (like The X-Men, Spiderman and Frank Castle, I suppose, too...)

For me, it's a tie between, Ian Malcolm, a la Jurassic Park. and Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, from Crime and Punishment. My two favorite characters from my two favorite books.

This is a tough choice, but I'd have to say... Stitch, He's awesome. He's also the last good character to come from Disney (itself, not Pixar)

Although if I'm going for something more age appropriate I'd say Dr. House.

This is the hardest question that has ever been posed to me.

Simon from Gurren Lagann. He goes from a pansy to the embodiment of bad-assery. Such a thing makes him the ultimate character in my book.

This man gives a good choice. However, to be somewhat original, I'll say Vita from Nanoha A's/StrikerS, on virtue of being awesomely GAR, cute, and having an awesome dress.
Of course, my favorite changes on a minute-to-minute basis, since there are so damn many.
Not to be a ass or anything man but girls can't be GAR. I direct you to the following thread.

What about Kamina? He was a badass all the way through. Anyone who stands up to two Gunmen with only a sword is absolutely fucking crazy.

OT: I'm quite partial to Kyon. He is the embodiment of cynicism and sarcasm and his narrative throughout the entire franchise is extremely entertaining.
Kamina was badass but was unable to reach the potential that Simon could. Kamina even said it himself. The fact that Simon was able to both reach his potential and step down when he was no longer needed makes him the better character in my opinion.

Well for me this is a tough one because I have alot of favourites.

But my favourite fictional character of all time definitely has to go to Tom from Mortal Engines. You know he's well characterized if I'm able to say "This guy's so relatable" despite the fact that he lives in London...and this London moves around on wheels devouring other moving cities...and it's thousands of years into the future and Earth has been devastated by war.

I am terrible at "favourites" so either:

Vincent Vega

or Mad Martigan from Willow.
