Also: Heat, Full Metal Jacket, The Warriors, all of the Michael Caine films where he is Harry Palmer, the Italian Job, The Sting, 39 Steps, Brazil, Rollerball..

Hell, there are too many! But there are a few for starters! Everyone should watch Soylent Green though!

Meh these days there so many mindless action/special effects crap, horror turned into snuff etc.

I'm from 1988. My favourite movie is Once Upon a Time in the West. In my Top 10 there'd only be three movies from after 1988. Besides Once Upon a Time in the West, I'd especially recommend Apocalypse Now, Blade Runner, The Godfather, The Deer Hunter and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. There's lot's of other good stuff like movies directed by Hitchcock, Kubrick, Coppola, Leone etc. etc. etc.

OT: The majority of my favorite movies were made before 1993. Casablanca, 12 angry men, the graduate, metropolis, Bill & Ted's excellent adventure etc.

I'll go older and say one of my favorite movies of all time is Fritz Lang's Metropolis [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017136/], made in 1927. I was born April 12th, 1990, making this movie at least 73 years older than me and still cooler than most modern movies that I watch today, for real.

I was born in 1988 so that being the case, my all-time favorite movie is probably 12 Angry Men. I also really liked Night of the Living Dead (original). I also love the original Star Wars trilogy and, the Monty Python movies.

Umm The Never-ending Story, and Blues Brothers I would have to say are my 2 biggest films that fall into that category. There are others, but those two are the biggest.

The Blues Brothers, I get, but the Never Ending Story?! It was shit! The dragon had a head that looked like a dog and it skirted over so much stuff from the book. No disrespect if you honestly still like the movie, but damn, I cringe whenever I think of it... *brrr*
