Favorite Final Fantasy character? Why?

Cloud had a decent story but his indifference to everything just pissed me off to the point where I could never like him.Jenkins said:

II-Firion, probably because the rest of the characters weren't very well written for.
III-Still working through this game, but I guess for the moment the main character.
IV-Kain, 'cause Dragoons are amazing.
V-Galuf, for being his funny amnesia-ridden self.
VI-Locke, his story throughout the game is heartwrenching, but he's still the upbeat character through it.
VII-I guess Cid, though I never really got too into this one
VIII-The guy who created the ending credits, 'cause the only good part of this game is when it's over.
IX-Zidane, he's my favorite main hero in the whole franchise, and a good example of how you don't have to be truly destined to save the planet to be able to help people.
X-Wakka, he's just a charming character
XI-I know there's not really characters in this one, but my favorite job was Dragoon...got it to 71 before I quit the game...I miss my wyvern Kagero still...lol
XII-I didn't feel that there was a real good character development in this one, so I don't really have a favorite person in this game.

Yeah, he does but by then I was already too far gone LOL. But it seems all the main FF characters grow out of their major faults: Cloud and his indifference, Squall and his "screw everyone" mentality, Zidane's arrogance, Tidus's bitchiness, and etc.NeutralDrow said:
well I have lots but Locke Cole comes out top because hes an awesome treasure hunter he risked life and limb to get the phoenix magicite to revive the one he loved in the end he got Celes (hot) he said he would protect Terra and Celes to the end and he did and hes also funny can't go wrong with Locke but let me list my favorite from each game (where there is a character to choose from)
FFII: Gordon he's awesome he starts out a coward but later on grows a pair and starts leading the rebel army to victory his dynamic character change was a great part of the story
FFIV: Kain Highwind in both the original and the after years he has interesting plot to him and hes a dragoon, dragoons kick ass!
FFV: Faris Scherwiz (aka Sarisa Scherwil Tycoon or Salsa in the anthology release which is a hilarious name) wins this round shes a pirate!
FFVI: Listed above... It's Locke
FFVII: Zack Fair hes the only likable character in the entire FF7 series hes upbeat energetic and optimistic and cool with a strong sense of justice what more could you ask for?
FFVIII: Quistis Trepe shes hot smart and cool there wasn't a thing about her I didn't like
FFIX: Freya Crescent another awesome dragoon of awesomeness she is calm minded and has some really good attacks.
FFX: Jecht HEY HE COUNTS AS A MAIN CHARACTER! hes really the only person I liked in FFX they should make a FFX-0 revolving around Braskas much more interesting pilgrimage (or maybe I just wanna see a drunken Jecht attack a shoopuf >.>)
FFXII: Ffamran "Balthier" mied Bunansa hes a pirate from the skies hes got an awesome accent and hes all round cool, and besides he's the leading man in this game.
FFT: gotta be Delita Heiral he pulled strings from behind the scenes helping Ramza on his journey.
