What was going on with him was that he always dreamed of being a traditional fairy-tale/JRPG hero. He was inspired after reading the book in the Balamb Garden Library 'the Sorceress' Knight' and always wanted to be like the heroic knight in that story, defending the beautiful female lead from whatever evil forces assail her on her quest and live happily ever after. In other words, he wants to be the main character in a more cliched JRPG than the one he's in. He'd be happier in the Dragon-Warrior verse.Mr. In-between said:I owned that game. Hell, I actually bought a brand new copy of it before I played FFVII. I got as far as the battle with the fused Adel-Rinoa and I still didn't understand what the hell was going on with Seifer.WhiteFangofWar said:Snip
As you can probably tell it doesn't quite work out that way, his arrogance and attitude towards teamwork being two of many reasons why he could never live his dream. By the end he's just blindly following the sorceress because he has nowhere else to go, and even his closest friends abandon him.
