Auron from FFX for being a complete badass.
Wakka for being one of the most fully realized characters out there. (<3 John DiMaggio's voice acting)
Vivi the black mage from FF9 because...well idk, I just liked him.

I might be slightly biased towards FFX since it's the first one that actually had excellent voice acting, but hey :p

Auron, because he focuses on his promise and nothing else.
Sephiroth, because he's so wretched.
Tifa, 'cause she fights with her fists.
Reno, 'cause he's funny.
And they're all hot.

Zidane, he's only doing the whole thing to get laid.
He has a tail, and he's a thief.

First: Yuffie, not only because she's a ninja and hot/cute, but also because I find her funny. Also the first time I got her on my team and got to name her, her picture or portrait or whatever made me and my friend laugh so hard.

Second: Rikku, Both the FFX and FFX-2 versions. She's just so hot/cute. It's more like, FFX=cute, FFX-2=hot. Also she's really hyper and funny.

Funny thing really, that I have (on this website) Yuffie as my avatar and Rikku as my wallpaper on my computer.

Rikku & Yuffie for the simple facts that they are ninja-style classes & are both hot

Cid (FFVII Version): Because he is the bad-ass Barrett should have been (without relying on !@#$ every two seconds like Barrett did -_-;)

Red XIII: I don't know why but I actually really liked Red and kept him in my party after I got him.

Kefka: Because... well... he's Kefka. And in my mind Kefka > Sephiroth.

LEAST Favorite character: Cait Sith. Did nothing of use in the game, did even less in Advent Children.

Freya from IX both for being a dragoon and actually being a deep character unlike some others *Looking at you Quina/Amarant/Eiko*

There is one character who is the most sexiest, most badass and probably most sympathetic character in the entire franchise.....Kuja. Why do you ask?...Only real men have child bearing hips and lipstick.

FF7 Tifa
FF8 I love Squall but Zell wins me over every time (I can't believe I haven't seen Zell mentioned yet)
FF9 Stiener (he was hilarious with his furious shaking and waving fists) Vivi too cute
FF 10 Auron followed closely by Yuna and Lulu
FF 10-2 Paine & Rikku = awesome
FF 12 Balthier=EPIC and Fran cause she kicks major ass
FF 13 So far Sahz

I think one of the characters that I liked the most from all of the games was Beatrix. She wasn't given a main role by any means but she did come around to the right side and she was just so awesome to use in the fight you do get her for. For some reason I almost always like swords than any other weapon and she was a master of swordplay.

Though if you're going to say playable character Celes has always been one of my favorites. She changes sides because she realizes her bosses are assholes and while it was pretty simple the opera scene was just so cool the first time I played through FF3 (yes the SNES one). And speaking of the opera you have to show some love to Ultros. He was one of the most memorable bosses from any FF game.

Locke Cole, everyone's favorite thi*BIFF BASH BONK*treasure hunter. Probably the strongest male protagonist of many good ones in FFVI, character-wise.

Seifer Almasy, the man who in a more-cliche FFVIII universe would probably become the leading man based on his looks and power compared to Squall. He ends up as the local school bully on a global stage, yet by the end you can't help but feel pity for the bastard.

Wakka. Yeah, you heard me right. In Final Fantasy, characters with common and understandable flaws are rare. Characters who later overcome those flaws are rarer still (Seifer certainly didn't). Characters who do all this while still remaining a comic relief character are... Well, I think there's only one.

Haven't played FFXIII yet.

I owned that game. Hell, I actually bought a brand new copy of it before I played FFVII. I got as far as the battle with the fused Adel-Rinoa and I still didn't understand what the hell was going on with Seifer.

EDIT: Or SeeD, the war, etc.

I'd say Vivi Ornitier...
But come on, he just owns everybody so hard, it simply isn't fair anymore.

So for my choice for 'favorite-character-anybody-but-vivi' is:
Amarant Coral.

That guy is just so relaxed, so bad-ass; always sittin' on the side not giving a shit.
Perfect example: when Zidane plays a trick on him and the guards suddenly think Amarant's the criminal... And he just *walks* away. Or at the Lifa Tree, right before the big slaughter, everyone's getting all overly pumped... and he's just leaning against the tree, going: "Let them just fight each other and beat up whoever comes out victorious. My money's on Kuja."

A part of me wishes they had given him more screen time, but maybe that would've ruined his mystique.
