Strangely, it's a tie for me. I was one of those people that got crazy-hooked into Animal Crossing, played it without TT cheats for just under a year. It was my daily guilty pleasure. However, Rogue Squadron 3 was just phenomenal, especially given they added 2 with full co-op.

I love SSB Melee, still up there in the most fun games I've ever played, and I don't think any things going to beat it any time soon. Metroid Prime comes in second, that's a game I recommend everyone should play.

I'm prepared to ask questions and have my existence deny-ed. Never heard of Cubivore, what makes this game so great?

Metroid Prime, easily.

Was expecting an FPS, but I still think it was anything but that- it felt more like a First-Person Exploration game, with some shooting, though- granted. The same way that Metroid, itself cannot be solely a shooter, with emphasis on exploration and platforming as well

As long as you're willing to accept that you're now a non-entity (Can you prove you're not?) then alright. It's a game about cube animals in a cube world (literally, the ripples are cubed the sun is a cube even the clouds are cubes) eating eachother. You play the role of one such animal who is determined to return wilderness to the world and become the king of all cubivores. Gameplay is very fun, running and eating the fuck out of other creatures including fountains of purple cubed blood spurting from your foes when you rip off and devour their coloured limbs to gain power. Colour, by the way, is how the game determines how strong a creature is. There's red, blue, yellow, purple and grey each one comes in three variations, Light, LightDark, and Dark. Light is the weakest and most common with Dark being the strongest and usually rarest. Each colour type has it's own strengths and weaknesses and more importantly bodyshape and movement style that adds a lot of variety and fun to the gameplay. Say you see an enemy with red limbs, you attack and eat their limbs and yours will turn red, if all your limbs turn red you become a "redaped". You start off with one limb and then mate and pick one of many offspring to continue on your genes, your offspring having one more limb then you up to six.
It sounds like a lot of fun, I'm gonna have to look into it now. Wonder why I've never heard of it before? I was gaming crazy back then, I almost hired everything on the shelf but I never saw Cubivore.

Thanks for the info, really appreciate it.

Metroid Prime gets my vote. Loved that game. In fact i've enjoyed every Metroid game since the days of the NES until the Wii version as I hate the Wii controls.
