Quite a lot. At least those games that none of my friends were/are particularly keen on. But to mention a couple: Civilization games, and from the most recent:
SpaceChem. That game is a masterpiece. If you like puzzle games and giving a proper scratch for your brain, check it out. 10 ? is a steal for the value, but more remarkably: the demo is very long, and offers a lot, maybe 3-8 hours worth of challenges.

None of my gaming chums have played Mafia, or The Sands of Time, or Hitman: Blood Money, or The Witcher 2.

They are tasteless fiends.

Mortal Kombat (9)

Some say it wasn't anything good, I say it was just as it should be. I didn't want some AMAZING work or some new gaming tech to make it something badass. Why? Because it WAS badass to begin with. A few new touch up graphics, some new abilities, and some cheezy ass story to boot. That was Mortal Kombat to be, it was a decent beat-'em-up and now it's just a... oh wait, it's the same thing. Wonderful. I wanted something simple, forward, and bloody friggin graphic. I do have my pokes, prods, and probbings for it, but in all honesty, it's what -I- wanted... but no one else did.

For that I will kill a Panda.

Harvest Moon, probably the only game I can think of (aside from puzzle) that has NO combat what so ever and yet is very compelling

That.... doesn't actually happen to me. Most of my friends are these anime geek lesbians. And usually when someone in my group of friends recommends a game, we all play it. It always gives us something new to talk about with each other, and we all have such similar tastes, that trying a game the other enjoys won't be unemployable for us.

I have a lot more in common with my "irl" friends than I do with, say, well, a lot of internet communities. Like, oh, all of my friends enjoy Nintendo games, Touhou, Tales, Shin Megami Tensei, Harvest Moon, and so forth. My friends are also responsible for getting me into Fatal Frame.

Every fighting game I've ever played. Every RPG I've ever played (of both Western and Japanese origin).

It sucks playing most fighting games alone...the fun is kind of gone when you can't see the person right next to you getting mad/laughing/etc.

And most of my friends don't have the time, money, or open-mindedness to play a lot of RPGs. Their only games end up being CoD or AAA titles. Only have one or two friends that are an exception to this.

Nier is THE BIG ONE. Very few of my friends have played it, and it's one of my favorite games of all time.

Only one of my friends even knows about this game. And it is beautiful. Got to thank my dad for showing me it. I have to go play it now... Bye, people.

I think I know what Reyn would say...

Just tell him about how much fun you're having and what is making it fun until he gives in.
He loves RPGs and we have played bot Tales of Symphonia as co-op and I'll get him to play it but he doesn't have time at the moment, got loads of stuff going on in his life.

Aw. <3

You know, you wouldn't happen to know where I might find some of the large expansion mods for Windows EV Classic, would you? My brother had the Orion, Polaris, Rebel, and Alien expansions on our ancient PowerPC, but I can't get them off to convert them because the poor thing can't even load the OS anymore.

Yes! Someone who enjoys M&M! Although I have to say I liked VIII: Day of the Destroyer more.
I guess that would count as a favorite game that none of my friends played, but I actually entered the thread with the intention of saying Katawa Shoujo, so I might as well mention that.

I really liked the whole dragon egg stealing part of Day of the Destroyer. I feel like the choices and your role in society were more significant in that game, but I did feel like it was easier to complete.

(EVGE Second Update) Here is an all new scenario that I have put together for the game Escape Velocity.
It does not completely change the game environment, but expands the existing one greatly. The Confeds and Rebels are still there, but they've got company.

Two new galactic super-powers have found their way into the game, the Orion Union (confed-friendly) and the Polaris Alliance (confed-haters, thus Rebel-friendly).

Some smaller local governments are also added to the EV universe. To offer more playing space, lots of new systems and stellar objects have been added, as well as tons of new ships and outfits.

To make trading a little more exciting, lots of new trading-items, organized in a complex web of trade-routes, has also been added. If you figure them out, you may find a quick way to wealth. Some new missions have also been added, not as many as I would have liked, but that may come as an add-on later.

btw on which os is it installed?
i may be able to help you emulate it.
this way you might convert them, nevertheless.
That Game Expander sounds like what I'm looking for (and when I checked my plugins folder, I had a copy already :p ) but since I'm running Nova on Windows, I can't install it.
