Hello everyone

This thread is intended to be pretty straightforward: what are your favorite games to play for hours on end? I personally prefer those that lack an emphasis on story. Not sure why this is, but if I'm going to be sitting in front of the television for the next five hours, then I'm much more likely to select a fighting (Tekken, etc.) or racing game as opposed to an FPS. I suppose I like the continuous rewards associated with improving upon a deeper, more focused skill set (might hold true for FPS if I played online).

My list:
- Tekken 6
- Wipeout HD
- Disgaea
- Persona 3 (specifically the dungeons)

...Basically arcade games and those which require grinding.

inb4 TF2. But in case multiplayer doesn't count, I've been known to play Resident Evil 4 for hours on end.

Really?

I've had a marathon session with Mass Effect 1 and 2, as well as Crash Bandicoot 1-3 and Metal Gear Solid 1-4. By marathon, I mean that I start the first game and take my time with it; not 20 hour game sessions and then change immediately to the next one. Usually play a few hours a day, and when I finish a game, I change to the next one.

Pretty much any game, to be honest. Particularly though, recently, it's been Fallout 3...

I played Wipeout HD until the wee hours of the morning the other day and my eyes only stopped being bloodshot sometime yesterday. It felt as if I'd been swimming with my eyes open in a chlorinated pool. I'm really surprised that I didn't end up with a headache, which always seems to happen when I play Minecraft, even with the head-bobbing turned off.

Deus Ex comes to mind, as well as Fallout and TES.
Barring some haphazard misadventure (i.e. attempting to clear out a Super Mutant fortress), I was never able to play FO3 for long periods of time. Definitely enjoyed it, though.

Halo: Reach (Firefight)
Any Elder Scrolls
Mass Effect
Project Reality (Games are like two hours long each, kinda impossible to not marathon it)
Borderlands
Red Dead Redemption
GTA

But most of all, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Getting absorbed in that game is so easy and so much fun, dammit!

Fallout 2, I love the game so much that I can play a completionist playthrough in only a few sittings. Of course that is only after having a bad few days, I'm not totally crazy.

That's how my friend's brother is with respect to TF2. No idea how he is ever going to remedy his sleeping schedule at this point. With difficulty, I suppose.
