I also liked Alyx Vance, nothing like a pretty girl riding shotgun as you defend the planet against aliens.
"A zombie Combine? Ha, more like a Zombine! Hahahahahahaha... you're no fun, Gordon."

Yeah, Alyx here. Or Samus' spaceship. That's LIKE a sidekick.

I think you're one of the first people I've seen actually use his name. *props*
What else would he be called? That alien guy?

Mort I think his name was, or Morty. He is the demi-lich (floating skull) who is your sidekick in Torment.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
definatly midna with the arbiter coming up from the rear. Midna since shes adorable and all her expressions are just so... expressive, more so then most chars in other games. Arbiter since Ive always liked him, his motivation was always more interesting then the Chief, Chief is simply a solder but the arbiter was a fleet captain, then stripped of his rank by essentualy the pope and became a hero doomed to die by said pope before deciding that was bs and fighting and killing the aformentioned pope, even going as far to bring his race on the side of the humies

Probably....Midna, from Twilight Princess because she's actually useful and plot-relevant. Also she has an attitude, which I found refreshing from the typical "Hey! Listen! Hey! Listen!" I was used to with Navi and the KoRL in WW.

I don't know if playing co-op actually counts as having a sidekick but it's better than nothing, and by nothing I mean stupid NPCs.
I also choose Midna. She had a PERSONALITY which was a nice change since most games can't even develop the main character one.

Personally I hated Minda more than Navi.

Also I would say Dogmeat is a nice sidekick, thought that might be because I'm comparing him to the dog from Fable 2.

To each their own I guess :)
I will admit Midna sure needed a lot more attention than Navi did lol.

I always like Lucy from assassin's creed. She wasnt exactly important until the end but still cool anyway. And if anyone remembers tales of symphonia, Kratos.

For sheer humor's sake, Minsc (and Boo, the miniature Giant Space Hamster, too) of Baldur's Gate can't be beat. He was a great parody of the barbarian stereotype and his lines were pure gold. He was also dead useful in a fight if you were playing a magic type, so he was a rare entertaining/useful sidekick.

Arbiter never seems to have it when he's not played by AI though. =(

He had it in place of a flashlight in Halo 2.

I'm one of the seemingly few people who actually cares about the wider story of Halo. Yep, I'm a self-confessed fanboy.

That said, most of the novels were on the New York Times Bestseller List, so they must be doing something right :)
I too am a supporter of John-117.

I agree on Alyx. As for Samus' ship, it is odd how they seem to give it personality, isn't it? I suppose you could say Adam from Metroid Fusion though. It was her ship's computer, and he ended up being a really good character for spoileriffic reasons.

Yeah, Nintendo's good with that. They gave Midna a good personality and, more impressively, they gave Link, a complete Stoic, a great personality as well. They really are good at making simple characters expressive (see again my above comment about Samus' ship).
