Blind Guardian - Imaginations From the Other Side

The apotheosis of what metal is, is supposed to be, and how it is meant to be written is composed within this masterpiece of a song.

So many favourites I haven't mentioned though... All sorts of sub/sub-sub genres there.

According to Itunes and my 124 listens of it: Dunsel by Protest the Hero. They certainly are my favourite band, but I feel it'd be weird to call them straight up metal, so my my favourite metal song?

Well, Pantera always makes me want to punch something, so I guess I'll go with "I'm Broken", which is literally the heaviest song in existence.

I have many favorite metal songs, but I think among all of them this song is one of the best. If it doesn't pump you up, then you're unpumpable.

Such a hard question. I like Disciples of the Watch from Testament and Unleash the Bastards/Sadistic Magician from Municipal Waste. Oh and rock hard ride free from Judas Priest. That's a classic. Dude there's no way I can pick one...

No contest. Devin is a genius and a gentleman.

The emotion and energy in this song is just phenomenal. Just, perfect beautiful, soulful music that makes me glad to be alive.

I met him 3 weeks ago at his Glasgow gig - dude spent 2 hours signing things for fans. What a legend (P.S he's a huge nerd)
How the hell was I beat to Strapping Young Lad?
Anyway uh... yeah, that one though I'm partial to this song:

And I am extremely jealous of you now for seeing him in concert :(

I quite like Walk With Me In Hell by Lamb of God at the moment but I couldn't possibly have a favourite metal song of all time. It changes often. A live version but that doesn't matter because they're so badass live :D

Not cos I met him? :p

He's a really cool guy. GO and see him if he tours near you, he does meet and greets 90% of the time afterwards and he's really lovely.

As for your vid link...

You guys are too focused on Strapping Yound Lad, so I'll get a bit of diversity in here with...

Coppelius - Schöne Augen (basically metal, but with contrabass, cello and clarinet instead of guitars and bass)

Also, Equilibrium - Unbesiegt
