First off, shouldn't this be in the video game section?
Second: Green Lantern is my favorite MK fighter.

Chun-Li from the original Sega game. I will kick anyone's behind with her.
Errrr...
And I'm dumb and was talking about Street Fighter with a friend so that's where my mind went. Strike that and replace it with Sub-Zero and Mileena.

Yay! I got to be the first pedant to spot the mistake for once!

I'm in the minority that actually likes characters from the post 2D MK games.
Bo Rai Cho and Darrius are probably my favorites, for numerous reasons. Bo Rai Cho because he reminds me of Su Hai from Drunken Master and it's one of my favorite martial arts movies and Darrius because I dig his cyberpunk-esque getup (and his and his even more kickass 70s blaxploitation movie style alternate costume) and because of his moveset.
In a game where every other character can shoot fireballs or teleport or has six arms, it's refreshing to see a guy kicking ass with some pretty basic but effective karate. One of his special moves is literally just sidestepping the opponent's guard and jabbing them in the gut. No flashy kung fu magic or ninja weapons for this guy. Just one pissed off black guy ruining your day.

I'm old. Plus, Mortal Kombat kind of slipped after the second game for me. And then when they made the jump to 3D, they totally dropped the ball. Mortal Kombat "1" is great, and Mortal Kombat II is my favorite. After that, I like Ultimate 3, but I'm really think there are much, much better 3D fighters than 4, Deadly Alliance, and Deception.

Trilogy doesn't do it for me either, because it feels like a half-hearted effort to cash in, because you just cannot properly adapt pre-MK3 characters to run on the MK3 engine (i.e. MK2 Jax and MK1 Raiden are given combos and running ability. WFT!) Plus the Brutality finisher and all the added-in Animalities just...suck.

And Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is a bullshit game simply to compete with the massive success of Marvel Vs Capcom 1 and 2 (both of which better fighting games in every way) as well as in response to the upcoming third installment. This is also because DC didn't like the idea of entrusting their intellectual property to Midway. While the game mechanics are good, there is simply nothing but novelty and "star power" that sets this game apart from Soul Calubur 1 or 2, nor latest Virtua Fighter and Tekken installments in terms of quality and mechanics.

Sub-zero - the freezing, the ice puddle, and the exceptionally great fatality ("Your spine - let me show it to you!")
