Despite being from an unfortunately mediocre game, the boulder gun from Fracture. I can't remember it's real name, but it's a gun that shoots boulders! Boulders!

P.S. come to think of it the gun that shoots big sticks of wood or whatever is also pretty cool, as is the shuriken-lighting thing.

New? Sorry, no game has yet beat Armed and Dangerous- it had a grenade that flipped the world upside down and caused all your enemies to fall into the sky- and then you could deactivate it and then they'de plumet back to the ground.
It also had a gun that fired SHARKS, that swam through the EARTH, and popped out and ate enemies.

But my favorite weapon ever is Nevan from the third game from the same series. As I've said before in numerous posts: A sythe that is also a guitar that summons lightning and bats to attack the enemy when it is played. BEST. WEAPON. EVER.

this year...The Gal 43 from Saints Row 2. this little devil can tear through a hummer in 2 clips when dual wielded.(and considering it's the 3rd easiest weapon to get in the game,you only real worry is ammo.)
