Once you get past the insane moralizing. It is really well done.
I absolutely love your icon!

erm, anyway, on topic, I'd have to say Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, staring Robert Downey Jr. and Val Kilmer. Amazing movie and it is kind of sad how few people have seen it...

Children of Men, Sunshine, and Brick, with the last definitely being the most obscure.
Speaking of Sunshine...

For mine, I'm going to say Escape From New York.

DragonSlayer... a somewhat boring action movie with a few cheesy lines but it is very easy to riff on and the effects are so ass that it adds to the charm.

I know they have their own little cult followings, but Boondock Saints and Office Space were amazing movies that no one but me seems to know.

Edit: Also Primer. How did I miss that one?

My two would be Dead Snow (it's about zombie Nazis and is as awesome as you think it would be) and Down Periscope (Kelsey Grammer is submarine captain and it's hilarious)

The movie "Rocket Science" about a high school kid with a stutter who joins the debate team. Like the Kings Speech but not British and not terrible
I dont get all the hate for "the kings speech" It was a good movie
yeah it was okay, people just hate it cause it essentially stole an oscar, all the other movies were better
sorry I don't agree, social network was good but i preferred the kings speech. Not sure what else was in the running

A person in my History of Cinema class did a project on one of the scenes in it. Very trippy.

My list:

- Der Untergang (Downfall): a German movie about the last days of Hitler in his bunker.

- Repo! The Genetic Opera: a crazy musical about a dystopian society and... yeah, you need to see it to understand it.

- The Punisher: A good revenge tale with a great John Travolta performance.

- The Island: I don't understand why this isn't more popular. It looks like it's big budget.
It has a great, sometimes even deep, story about two clones escaping. It has fun action. What's not to like?

- El Mariachi: Robert Rodriguez made his first movie, El Mariachi, on a budget of less than $9000. He did studies on medicine to finance it.

- From Dusk till Dawn: Another Rodriguez film flick, with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino as the two lead characters. It has the most surprising plot twist ever, at least if you're not expecting it. It definitely surprised my parents when we watched it.

- Planet Terror: No one has heard of it, yet everyone knows the woman with the machine gun leg from this Grindhouse movie from Rodriguez. It's probably my favourite movie ever.

- Leon/The Professional: Seriously, why does no one know about this one? It's an amazing movie. Although I have to say, the extended theatrical version is a lot better than the shorter director's cut.

- Rat Race: This is a brilliant comedy, with an all-star cast. Yet it somehow got brushed under the table.

- Hell Ride: Kidding, this movie is terrible in a box. I'm still pissed at the trailer [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHglhwcwO8I] for making it look cool.
I saw Downfall in an English translation, and it was probably the best dubbed movie I've ever seen. The Punisher...not obscure, not very good, and there's no such thing as a good John Travolta performance.

My list:

Vantage Point, Point of No Return, Winter's Bone (it got nominated for an Oscar, which surprised me because I was certain that I was the only person on the planet that saw it), and The American. The last one's probably not very obscure either.

So obscure. How about these.

Delicatessan - French black comedy set in a post apocolyptic setting in an old appartment run by a butcher who's a cannibal.

City of Lost Children - Surreal French film about a mad scientist who kidnaps children to stel their dreams. Stars Ron Pearlman

The Warriors - Cult classic of a comic book about a New York gang who are stuck in the wrong part of town and need to get back to their territory.

Death Rides a Horse - Classic spaghetti western. A young man who survived the brutal slaying of his family sets out to find revenge with the help of Lee Van Cleef.

Metropolis - German silent film by Fritz Lang about the rise and fall of a Eutopian society and the battle of its oppressed workers.

Waiting - The greatest fan-fucking-tastic film about the hospitality indusrty ever! A must for anyone in the industry.

Undead - The first feature length film by the Spierig brothers, the two guys who brought us Daybreakers and thus made vampires kickass again. A mysterious asteroid impacts in a small outback town turning its inhabitants into zombies.

Yeah, I can see how people wouldn't like the Punisher. It's not a work of art, nor is it a great movie. But it is a good movie, and a good action movie at that.

I'll have to disagree with your American. That's the absolute worst movie I've ever seen in theatres. Yes, worse than Revenge of the Fallen; while that one was bad, it didn't make me want to kill myself.

Bubba Ho-Tep. Bruce Campbell at his utter best as a retired Elvis fighting off a cowboy mummy with black JFK in a wheelchair. How has no-one seen this?!

Probably Noroi. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.258713-JK-Reviews-Noroi]

Saw it a few months ago and it quickly became one of my favourite horror films.
