Favorite opening song in a Tv show/Cartoon/Anime

I like The Boondocks theme song, however my all-time favourite has to be the theme song for Batman: The Animated Series..... DAMN!

So much anime... One has to wonder why there isn't an anime section all for itself.

Yes, one does wonder. It'd probably start a call to make separate forums for every other form of media though.

I don't think so, considering how huge the topic of anime is. Hell, my little sister has more than 200 episodes queued in her list of shows to catch up on.
Of course, not to mention the posters, movies, T.V. shows, books, music, costumes, conventions... The list goes on. Anime is huge.

Point made. If it's as big as you say, then The Escapist will be a video game forum with anime as a very close secondary topic if we had our separate forum. Shame the "Anime Fans" group only has just over 100 members.

Perhaps the majority of anime fans don't know about the group?
Also, anime is pretty much the same size as the cartoon universe anywhere else in the world.

Spoiler: I like her rendition of Lost My Music better than the official dub's, mind you. Her God Knows flows better too, but the lyrics for the official ones have more of an impact to me

Better then the official dub, but i am very attatched to the japanese version of Lost my Music and God Knows.

I dare say I may like her "Bouken Desho Desho?" even over Aya Hirano's, but Lost My Music and God Knows are better in the original Japanese (though my opinion on Lost My Music may fluctuate depending on the day)

The Neon Genesis Evangelion opening.

The Shakugan No Shana openings (especially Joint).
For the sheer engrish hilarity of it, Bleach's fourth opening (goddamn DJ chatter, how to survive).
The Magic Knight Rayearth theme (either absolutely beautiful or horrible high-pitched shrieking, you decide).
The Full Metal Panic opening is surprisingly reluctant to leave your head.

There's quite a few that I like a lot (though oddlly, I seem to have more ending themes than openings that I'm fond of). "Bouken Deshou Deshou" from Haruhi stands out among those, as do "Get Along," "Give a Reason," and "Breeze" from Slayers, and "Cruel Angel Thesis" from Evangelion (the first song I ever learned to sing in Japanese).

However, there's one that stands completely above those, for being so soothing, yet so emotional that I love listening to it on its own...with lyrics so appropriate that, once <url=http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FridgeBrilliance>I suddenly understood them, I came close to weeping...

The openings for Nanoha.

If the others are anywhere near as good as "Innocent Starter," I'm looking forward to getting the next seasons very much, indeed.

You do realize there is an anime user group right? Im quite proud of our little community there, we have managed to out shine every other user group on the boards in terms of chat. We have also brought up the most varied range of topics on anime that I have ever seen. Excuse me while I go check up on it. *scampers away*

My personal favorite. It has a girl fucking walking barefoot on glass. I also like the Teen Titans opening song for some reason. And Chowder's theme. And Family Guy's opening.

Oh, they are. Eternal Blaze (the opening to the second season) is even better. Hell, I'd say the second season is better in every way. The plot and characters are better (Signum and Vita are awesome), the opening and ending are better (I couldn't stand the first ending, to be honest), and it pretty much takes the good things about the first season, builds on them, and makes them what the season is.
