Favorite opening song in a Tv show/Cartoon/Anime

But my favorite would have to be:

Im a hardcore simpsons fan and while okay at some points I could laugh maniacally at the sight of Stan Smith, Peter Griffin and Hank Hill being chopped to pieces in an oversized blender made of pain! So naturally I'll go for the simpsons opening theme as being my favourite. And just to clear the air of questions for when my charisma and personality (Ahem) lands me as being president of all that is was and shall be (and hopefully the life-needing forum trolls) I do not watch much anime so that's why unlike most of these replies I don't mention it. Partly because it's not on my tv, partly because of my woeful internet speeds which could allow me to download it but mostly 'cause while I don't desire drinking the blood of anyone who has cosplayed as Ichigo or Haruhi Suzi...whatever, I see not much appeal in watching Japanese Teenagers complete with angst and funny hair (and equally funny names) running around having sex with each other while writing abismal poetry in a, ninja type, big robot or fucked up highschool setting very appealing. I'm fully aware that Hell hath no fury like that of a Bleach fanboy scorned but before you attack with messages and hate forums just remember, I don't hate anime it's just not my cup of tea. Come to think of it I don't even like tea.

Hell yeah, I always have the apocalypse lane theme stuck fast in my head. In that episode where Steve banged Gladyss to the dissaproval of Cuddles he performed a very sad but great song at the end after Cuddles and Steve had the fight.

My personal favorite. It has a girl fucking walking barefoot on glass. I also like the Teen Titans opening song for some reason. And Chowder's theme. And Family Guy's opening.

How about everyone else?

I love that show, and Eiko Shimamiya's voice just fits perfectly . I loved the second opening and ending too (for Higurashi no naku koro ni kai).

Also, even though the show wasn't one of my favourite's, I really liked the vampire knight opening.

(My classic '80 trio still runs pell-mell and joyfully though my brain at times: Silverhawks, Thundercats, and good old '80's Transformers. Good music, good wholesome fun.)

That's actually Maximum the Hormone [http://www.maximumthehormone.jp/news.html], a really popular Japanese metal band. They also did the theme for Detroit Metal City. This [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0CWpabTA6U] is easily one of their best songs, although their entire catalogue is good, and worth a look.
