Favorite Otaku/game girl

I never got into the whole anime scene, except for BoBoBo-Bo-Bo-BoBo.

I always thought the delightfully cheesy english dub of Beauty's voice was funny, so she pretty much became my third favourite character in that series, with Don Patch and Jelly Jiggler tying for first.

The only thing I don't understand about this series is

There are many things i think we are not meant to understand about that series...
After the first few episodes and after i started reading the Manga, i stopped wondering why and just went with it.

the one with asuka, I've seen all 26 eps of evangelion, and the movie(With lillith rei and all that) but who the hell is this "MARI" i'm seeing floating around this thread? From what i can tell she's from NGE, but where Evangelion 1.0, cuz i havnt seen those yet

Yea, she is from the new Rebuild movies that are being made.

oh okay, how does she tie in with all this, out of curiosity, is she supposed to replace anyone?

I don't think she replaces anyone.
I think she was just added in for no real reason than to have more characters.
Granted iv never seen the Movies myself.

Yea, all I'll say is 'Toothpicks.'

It starts out really strong, then there's kind of a slow period where most all of the fan service comes in, then the movie takes a massive turn once Bardiel comes into play. I've already seen the movie about 5 times >.>

Im afraid to ask...

But, iv heard so many good things about the movies i cant miss them.

Remember, I marathoned the entirety of NGE, including the recap movie Death and Rebirth, right before watching Rebuild 2.22 and it was completely worth it in just about every way possible. I had already accepted that it wouldn't be a straight retelling of the series, and that it'd deviate quite a bit so that may have contributed a bit, but it was just an amazing movie.

When you do see it, make sure to stick around after the credits.

Oh yea, i already knew it would go its own way.
Im completely fine with that, its the Other stuff that made me go ehh once i heard about it.
But you give it so much praise that it makes me want to buy the ones that are already out next time i go into my local movie store.

Well remember, I'm becoming more and more of an Eva fanboy every day, though that may give my opinion more weight as I love the series >.>

The stuff after the credits is something that I won't mention and the preview for the next movie which features Pirate Asuka for a brief 2 seconds.

But wait, I thought otaku described a subculture of people who are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to into Anime, you know, the types that kill their mothers when they throw out their Gundam dolls, er, models. (It's like if you called someone a nerd or a geek back in the 50s, similar social meaning.) But I've never seen it used to describe the Anime characters themselves unless they actually ARE otaku in continuity. The nerds with the swirly glasses and an unhealthy obsession with their female classmates' large...assets.
