Dawn of war for the best looking combat at the time and major lack of micromanagment of resource plus had the best expansions like Dark crusade adding another 2 races.

Homeworld series hands down. Second would probably be Supreme Commander. I love long engaging RTS games especially ones that can kick your ass if your not careful.

Dawn of War. Whilst I hold some fondness for others as well, I think Relic nailed making the RTS interesting at all stages of the game, exploration, harrassment, territory control, teching, and endgame conflict.

Even though they are filthy filthy Eldar fanboys, which is why the pointy eared gitz are so broken at tier 4.

Total war is a dead cert for me, I had a lot of fun with Heroes of might and magic aswell but only the third one the others i have seen have intrested me a lot less.

My favourite is probably Dune, for the lore that it is steeped in.

Red Alert Retaliation would be second.

I actually find myself enjoying Halo Wars more than I thought I would. It works for the X360 and ISN'T crap, which is really saying something.

One small step for Bungie/Ensemble, one giant leap for console RTS!

The only one I've ever been good at online is AoE III, but I preferred CnC Red Alert II for the campaign.
