I'd go with Chrono Trigger. Extremely innovative as an turn-based RPG, almost eliminating the need to grind (Something that was eventually done by Chrono Cross). Also, the amount of possible endings the game had was absolutely unheard of in those days. It might be the largest SNES game ever created...and it was just downright fun. Loads of double techs and triple techs could change the way you fight depending on exactly which characters you chose to use, allowing for a surprising amount of customization. It's just pure classic and I love it. :3

I forgot about that game. I remember me and my mom trying to beat that game when I was younger and we just could not get past this level with sandworms

I think the game that I've gone back and played the most would be Super Metroid. I loved Metroid for NES but Super Metroid took everything that was good from Metroid and polished it to a brilliant shine then added more Items, areas, monsters and fun.

Runners up would be:
Zelda link to the past (one of the best Zelda games ever)
Secret of Evermore (very silly rpg)
Secret of Mana (another great rpg)
Crono Trigger (millions of fans can't all be wrong)

They were thinking of EVOO. That's what Rachel Ray calls Extra Virgin Olive Oil. She's weird, but still hot.

Oh I have too many to name just ONE.

I have an undying love for Chrono Trigger for being one of the most perfect and timeless RPG's I have ever played...it's just so damn awesome.

Then there is Final Fantasy 6(3), being the peak of the series and having the best story and characters of the numerical FF's. FF7 owes a lot to 6 but go figure it's rather ungrateful and no one has the right to call themselves an FF fan without playing THIS game.

Oh then there is Bahamut Lagoon, a lost gem of an SRPG the had a kick ass story and gameplay, why oh WHY was it never released in North America. You need only look up my review to see how awesome a game it was.

Link to the Past is another game way up there. ALL the new Zelda's owe LtP big time, still is one of the best damn Zelda games ever.

Super fucking Metroid, now this is the definition of polish. The game was simply too awesome and had a level of polish that put's most of today's games and developers to shame. Valve couldn't do better no matter how hard they freaking tried.

Mega Man X...um...wait...how many times have I beat this game?

If I was locked in a room with the option of only 1 fighting game, well you know what game I am talking about. Killer Instinct, you know how awesome this game is? So awesome I am still waiting for my Killer Fucking Instinct 3!!! God dammit RARE give me KI 3!!!

There are plenty more games i can go on and on about, but those big 7 are games I will never forget and will enjoy until I die. The SNES is only rivaled by the PS2 in it's pure gaming awesomeness.

but you also had Batman Returns, Castlevania 4, Killer Instinct, the Earthworm Jim games

The SNES in my mind is the best console of all time, it could do no wrong

Are you serious? I STILL can't beat that level! My friend and I promised back in grade school that we'd clear it by the time we left for college - and we leave this fall. Maybe the game designers just ran out of time and ended the game there with an impassable level? Helluva game, though
