Sleepyhead by Passion Pit until it became popular as the LittleBigPlanet2 Theme Song. One of their other songs Little Secrets is sweet too.

Reccommended for anyone not aquainted with them though

Heard it. She's makes the best music imo

I actually one upped you because I posted a song from one of her bloody crumpets own bands that is no where near as big as her.
Oh sweet. I don't even mind being one upped, just because I'm happy someone else has heard of her.

Well, considering that about millions have heard Jeff Hardy's last WWE theme "No More Words"...

I'm gonna go with "Alones" by Aqua Timez (The 6th opening for Bleach) since no one listens to Japanese music at my school
"Velonica" is the best, me and my friends spent last summer raving to it :D

This depends a lot of whether you are Finnish or not. If you are, you have heard this and many many songs by this song-writer. If aren't, you are going to miss out on the lyrics which are the main reason I like the song. So this is pointless, but here you go, a touching song about the loneliness and friendship an old man and a seal:

And lot of other songs by Junnu Vainio, really. I really love "Albatrossi" too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uyjGGYONmM&feature=related. While they are well-known, I don't think a lot of young people like them I guess?
He was very productive, making all kinds of songs from melancholic to humoristic and pornographic and translating (or writing new lyrics) for well-known foreign songs.

It's a really cool song by a band not even signed. It's really good!

I really like alot of Ray Koefoed's songs. This one is probably my favorite of his. I'm quite glad I happened upon his "Taste the Cake" music video.

Best. Doors. Song. Ever.

It was only ever performed once during a show and never released officially. It did manage to make it onto some collection album 20 years later, which nobody bought because the album was pretty much a collection of random Doors songs they never released.

Favorite song that no one else has ever heard ?
Hmmm... Not sure, but I really like these and I don't know anyone else personally who has heard of them:

Both kind of bizarre songs, but that makes them so darn likable.

I have a few that I've liked:
<youtube=g8U0O2z-GVg>
Dreamville - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
I couldn't find the studio version (which is better IMO) but it's on The Last DJ. I first heard it on the DVD to the 2002 World Series.

<youtube=K9zsTBf0x3E>
Blue Bird - Ikimono Gakari
I know not everybody watches Naruto these days, but I was hooked to this song once I watched a fansub of the Naruto: Shippuden episode "Wind".

<youtube=FVHawH0V6EQ>
The Boy Who Wanted to Be A Real Puppet - Sonata Arctica
A friend of mine used this in a fan AMV also featuring an AQWorlds cutscene, the movie Wizards, and Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden. I only like listening up to 2:15, but that's just me.

<youtube=rBmo_w-aYAs>
Pirates of the Caribbean/The Rock cover - NiknJaps
While I found this because NiknJaps sent this video to a whole bunch of people, it's great enough to keep sharing.

<youtube=eZXKHcdtHaI>
Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder - Rin & Len Kagamine
I think I found this on a forum thread on 3D holograms here or on the Steam forums. But of course the result was the same: a spot on my YouTube favorites list.

Heck, if we're operating by the standards of this thread so far (namely, that I've heard of almost everything people are suggesting is ridiculously obscure), practically everything I listen to would qualify. I mean, Finger 11's "Paralyzer"? I'm pretty sure that was their biggest hit and the song that, if you know the band's name at all, you definitely know about.

Still, I am nothing if not a man prone to leaping upon any opportunity afforded him to showcase his own taste in obscure music, so here are a few[footnote]If you define "a few" as "a whole bunch", then that was an entirely accurate statement and not at all a filthy lie.[/footnote] of the "exponentially less likely to be widely recognized than other examples" highlights from my personal collection which consists mainly of relatively obscure music to begin with:

If you've heard of any of those bands I will be impressed; if you claim to have heard of all of them I will be genuinely astonished.

Just these 3, i think:
And to believe they only played it at the very end, in the credits.
I love this band. They're entertaining and profound at the same time.
Whenever i need to listen to something instrumental.

Archangel by Burial.

Very nice Dubstep/Garage track.

Also, Machine Gun (16-Bit Remix) by Noisia. Very obscure dubstep track.
