This topic goes to the heroes and villains who, despite not being as popular or recognizable as others, still hold a place in your heart for some reason or another. This list is ONLY for heroes and villains that you feel are unappreciated, NOT for the ones who are already known even by non-comic book readers.

To start off, this guy is my favorite underrated villain:

The Clock King, pictured above, is just hilarious. How can you not like the guy? He calls himself a king of clocks, of all things, wears a clock mask and clock one-piece, and commits clock-themed crimes. I love how inept he is, which at the same time makes him very endearing. You know the Joker will get his way eventually, but I always want to root for Clock King to somehow defeat Batman, just once. He's actually one of my favorite Batman villains, next to Clayface.
The Question, no doubt. Search him up on youtube, he's the shit. Like Rorschach done humorously imo.

Other than that, Emma Frost. Lots of people seem to hate her but I just can't get enough, loved her comic book before it was discontinued too.

In the animated series, he sealed up a dangerous growing portal with his power from the inside, and his exact fate is unknown beyond that. His fate in the comics, I know not at all.

Squirrel Girl for the win. She holds victories over Iron Man (well, kind of), Dr. Doom and freaking Thanos./i]

Gom Jabar is the strongest power of them all.

In general I find people also question the extreme powers of the Human Dirigible, Matter Eater Lad, the Flaming Carrot and the all powerful Arms-Fall-Off Boy.

Then there's a group of heroes that truly deserve a movie... would anyone else here be pumped to have a Section 8 film hit the theatre? Ok, I'll go by myself.

Jean de Baton-Baton is so awesome though...

Yeah, I never really read the comics. Don't remember him as being that bad a guy either... How'd he end up fighting Spiderman again? Robbing a bank or something?

He's absolutely mad, a bad ass, look pretty cool and hasn't got any unique powers as far as I know other then to hit the mark every time. Ass kickery with an attitude.
Isn't that supposed to be his power? I think I read somewhere that he has a superhuman like ability to hit his target.

Well, he wasn't a bad guy. In fact, he was a scientist working on the technology of portals and it...blew up in his face, sort of. Only reason he and Spidey fought was due to pressure from the Kingpin to, yes, rob a bank.

Billy Numerous.

Ok yes, fine he's originally from Teen Titans but he has since made the jump to main DC comics! It's his sense of humour that does it for me.

And if you believe that, I got a bridge to sell ya.

A few.
1: Blue Beetle does not get enough love thrown his way. Awesome character in all versions. I love him.

2: Aquaman. "mweh mweh doesn't do anything". You'd be having a hard time dealing with everything on the surface too if you were the undisputed King of 3/4 of the entire Earth. That's alot to patrol.

3: on the villain-side: Bane. Mostly from how awesome he is in Gail Simone's Secret Six. Good writing will do that. And because thanks to that-movie most people forgot he used to be a criminal mastermind and not just some mindless goon. Cheers Gail.

The Sentry (Jokes jokes, put down the guns please people)
In all seriousness it would have to be The Scarecrow, Hush and Onomatopoeia (Batman)
Hero wise, Penance (as someone who i forgot has already stated in this thread)
