Counter Strike or Day of Defeat and their source variants/sequels.

Prrof that all you need to take over the world is a good idea well executed.

Since I am not a PC gamer me and many others, will never know the sweet but mystical game that is CSS/Gmod/DoD:source. But since I bought the orange box for the 360 I would say TF2 FTW!

L4D: there's nothing as much fun as trying to slaughter some survivors with your friends (or your friends as survivors) in versus mode!

Valve are about the only people able to hold my interest at the moment... if I made a list of my favourite FPS games then in the singleplayer category you'd see Portal and the entire HalfLife series occupying about the first half a dozen places, and for multiplayer TF2 and L4D would be the top 2.

As for putting this stuff in order... TF2 ranks above L4D and I'm fairly fond of ep2 in the HL series (and HL1, that thing's a classic) but as for slotting the rest of the HLs and Portal into order... hell if I know...

Not a CS/DoD fan though.

Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 come for a tie.
They will do battle when the remaining three classes are updated, and the final episode comes out.

Everyone of Valve's games I've played, I've loved (but I felt a little let down by Left 4 Dead).

It's close between Half Life 2 and Team Fortress 2. I think TF2 just edges it though...

Portal, but if you ask me the fan made mod Prelude is better, not funnier, because of the complexity and difficulty of some of the rooms
Then it's a tie between HL2 and TF2

It wasn't anything to do with the gameplay or anything like that. It was just how unsubstantial it felt. I'm not someone who can play the same four levels over and over; if Valve released a map-pack or something for it, my only nit-pick would be answered...

hmm makes sense, but (correct me if I'm wrong) isn't there the same amount of TF2 maps?

Am I right in saying there's four L4D maps?
If I remember rightly, there's six maps in TF2. Not that many more, now I think of it. Must be the online play that makes me like TF2 so much. (When I tried L4D, it was offline split-screen. Maybe that's why I didn't think it was as good as everyone was saying...)

Yeah, definetly try Versus mode, that's the only mode I play! Tip: What's especcially fun is speed-running with 1 friend and not telling your other two teammates who than are like WTF?
