Wow, this is actually doing pretty well.
yeah... you know what? I just searched for a similar thread and nothing came up, so what the hell. Go for it.

My Favourite video game character is Conker, I love that little furry dude (maybe I should say "fuzzy" instead of "furry"... naw, I'm not gonna be called out on it)

Max Payne. He goes from hackneyed cliche to an actual emotion-inspiring character between the first game and the second.

Man too many to name. Here are a few of my favorites. Like my own children, I can't pick one above the other.

Strider Hiryu (Strider) - agile, stylish and deadly
Axel (Streets Of Rage) - The SoR series is amongst my favorite games ever and Axel is the most balanced of the characters
Sagat (Street Fighter) - the disgraced warrior with a good heart but a thirst for vengence. Someone I can relate to.
Wolf Hawkfield (Virtua Fighter) - I've kicked so much arse in the arcades with him.
My guy in Fable; I think I called him Deathbringer or Avatar or something - because he is me.
Guy (Final Fight) - quick and cool and is based off Guy Piccotto from the band Fugazi.

Honourable mentions to Marcus Fenix, Max Payne and the Master Chief who just missed the cut.

Balrog Xism from Street Fighter Alpha 3.
His gigaton punch can hit you if you're crouched.
He has insane block damage.
Who else has a gigaton punch?
Ralf from The King of Fighters, but Balrog can kill with a single punch.

My favorite character is Gum from Jet Set Radio.

Evil Shepard in Mass Effect. Good Shepard had a few moments, but Evil Shepard stole the show.

Wrex had potential to be greater as well.

The two robots from Z also rate highly.

Quite frankly I'm surprised this hasn't been done before. Oh well.

My favorite video game character is Kirby, because he's a ball of pink fluff and he's the resident bad ass of Dreamland. And because I spent hours playing Superstar on my neighbor's SNES, it was one of my first games.

- Aeris from FF7 - a cliche, admittedly, but her cutesy personality and hinted divination grew on me after a while.

- Knuckles from S&K - Gliding pwnz. After beating the hybrid Sonic 3/S&K with Knuckles, I had a really hard time playing S2 again, let alone S1 where you can't even do the speed ball thingy.

Doomguy, because he fought off numerous legions of unholy demons from beyond the void between worlds, and never said a word. And then sacrificed himself and stayed behind in Hell to make sure demons would never invade Earth again. Plus he was the original over powered badass space marine. Take that Master Chief.

Followed closely by Caleb, from Blood. Snappy one liners, both original and ripped from army of darkness wrapped in a cool trench coat, cowboy hat, and two sawed off shotguns. Plus he was a zombie, which adds a good 10 cool points. To quote Caleb "It's howdy doody time kiddies, the bad man is here."

Of course, I'm gonna go for the obvious one. Cloud Strife.
Yes, he's angsty, yes, he defys gravity with both hair and sword, but in my oppinion he's the coolest character out there.
