Crysis 3: The bow. That thing is so damn OP. You can kill EVERYTHING with it. Except maybe the final boss. Even the TOUGHEST 'regular' enemy you see, you are able to take down with 2/3 arrows that you can retrieve. Plus you don't uncloak.

Bulletstorm had some nice weapons, but i can't really remember details.

Bioshock infinite. The sniper rifle and shotgun are awesome. Those were the two guns i had with me for 90% of the game. You barely need upgrades.

Far Cry 3; Silenced sniper rifle. Take out an enemy camp from across the other hill while no one sees you. Yes please.

Battlefield 3: M5k for CQB. Deadly, accurate and fast. Just how i like it. The M98b sniper rifle. One shot kills baby!

As you can see, i am a fan of stealth.

Don't get me wrong though, a Fat Man is pretty funny. I just never used it that much since i didnt have infinite nukes.

in the later bits of Borderlands 2, my greatest satisfaction was shooting bandits through the face with a great Maliwan sniper rifle with ten rounds and seventy percent chance of fire damage. face go boom, corpse go fwoom, hehe.

I really liked the shotgun in Bulletstorm. When Yahtzee described it as "God slamming his car door" he wasn't exaggerating. It's really that badass.

Also whatever Labrys' axe is called in P4A. Well, I play Shabrys not Labrys but they both have Guillotine Axe and that move has so much impact. Never mind a fully charged Brutal Impact...
Yep, that brutal impact can crush people (if you can even combo into it as it has the biggest charge up time in the entire game)

Speaking of Arc system fighters, I would have to go with Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa

OR Interfectum Malus: Okami

One can summon ice and freeze you to death

And the other can negate magic itself and slice you to death

The Singularity Projector from ME2

It pretty much shoots mini black holes, drawing in enemies and dealing massive damage.......and that is fun.

laser assault rifle - Laser RCW from fallout NV.
Makes me feel i've got a lasgun. who wouldn't want a lasgun?
Meh. Laser RCW was for people with awful aim and too many caps to spend on ammo. Laser Rifle, a Scope, and some precision. That's how you do it. (NOTE: I actually thought the RCW was cool too. I could just never afford the massive piles of electron charge packs it burned through, heh.)

As for others...well, the Flailgun from Bulletstorm is nice. I mean it's a par of grenades on a chain. It makes mines out of lampposts. Or really any terrain. Or even hostiles. It's just kinda awesome. Not enough? Fine, charge it up so it superheats the chain.

The Raptor in Mass Effect 3. Sure, I COULD go with the Black Widow or the Valiant, but nah. Nothing screams versatility like a sniper rifle with over 130 rounds of ammo that can still headshot baddies. Kinda like the FONV Laser Rifle actually. I just love weapons that are usable without skill yet reward skill if you have it.

Speaking of which, the Carbine in Bioshock Infinite. Kills in 2 shots at long range, 2 shots at close range, and 2 shots at medium range. Nice to have a gun where you don't have to wild guess about the damage falloff. Also, single most accurate gun in the ENTIRE GAME unscoped. And the scope system is a nightmare so yeah. An alternative would be the Hand Cannon but it's still not the Carbine.

Oh how the hell could I forget?! The Crossbow with Dynamite Bolts from RAGE! Best silent gun with EXPLOSIVE results ever.

The pistol from Deus Ex Human Revolution with the armor piercing rounds mod. Headshots everything in the game and the laser sight makes aiming a damn breeze. I spent many playthroughs with nothing but a pistol, grenade launcher (for bosses) and fist-chisels. Between the three of them there's nothing you can't kill. No really. NOTHING! MUHAHAHAHAHA!

And more guns that I can count in Borderlands 2. I don't know where to start or end on those. The Storm is awesome on Gaige. My gunzerker with dual 10.4 speed Infinity's can wreck anything, any time, any place, ever. The Hellfire on Maya. A bearcat for Axton. Law + Order on a melee Zero. I guess Law is probably the best on account that it's a gun that's so awesome you keep it no mater what level you hit just for the special effect, heh. The Avenger for refilling Teodore weapon. The Deliverance because it literally chases your enemies around and guns them down FOR YOU. Like I said, too many to count in Borderlands 2. The damn game is basically gun porn. And that's a good thing.

Which is my favorite of all these? Not sure. If pressed, I'd probably pick the Crossbow with Dynamite Bolts from Rage, but I'm a sucker for pretty explosions at heart.

Because why fire one nuclear weapon...when you can fire eight?

oh that thing was awesome, i killed myself with it more often than anything else but when i didn't die i felt like a god.

but i liked the railway rifle better than than the nuke launchers since i just loved the feeling of using a macguyvered weapon to shoot railway spikes at deathclaws with varying results :3

We all had that moment...when you find that ultimate weapon that you used for the rest of the game, destroying those monsters that gave you a hard time or calmly just walking through that level while leaving a path of destruction in your wake. So escapists, what is your favorite video game weapon(s)?

I would have to go with the Cerebral Bore from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, the BFG 9000 from Doom and the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2.
I loved that weapon. Emaciator was awesome. A shrink ray! Inflator had to be my favorite from that game.

Always have been partial to rocket/explosive launchers. 8-ball launcher from the original unreal. stick of 6 fires. 6 barrels of deathly deathful fun death!

Love how the dispersion pistol, when all the power-ups have been collected, and combined with the amplifier can one-shot a titan. A mother-loving unreal Titan!

Bio-rifle. I love handing out "goop magnet" awards with that weapon.

Any of the dual, double weapons from Phantasy Star: Daggers, Mech Guns, Double Sabers, Twin Sabers, double claws

Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2: Dorn with his 2 +5 Flawless great swords.

The Meat Cleaver/Butcher Knife, from both Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.

It's great to chop people into meat chunks with a high strength build, and the Dark Souls version has my favorite R2 attack.

The War Machete from Bastion, so fast, so deadly, especially when you fully power it up with something sharp.

The Master Sword from The Legend of Zelda, The Fan from Smash Bros., The Buster Sword from FFVII, The Power Suit and all it's various upgrades from Metroid and any weapon from the absolutely insane amount in Kid Icarus: Uprising.

The one and only time I landed a full charge of that super was when Yukiko was faffing about on the other side of the screen doing her full screen fire super and Shabrys just did this mega super dash onto her face from almost full screen away through all her flames for the most out of nowhere KO ever. Yeah Shabrys can do that full screen flames crap too, except she can rush you down before it goes off. Titanomachina haterz.

Just use the light version of it most of the time I think though. It has much less range but the wind up time is almost nonexistent and it's still invincible (I think) Wake up supers are still the best strat EU.

I swear the game says it's unblockable in the tooltips but it's clearly not.

Da Claymoar!!!!! (Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer) I used this gun pretty much on any character. It is a beast if you know how to reload cancel in the game.

However in most games I stick to stealth weapons, like snipers or silenced guns.

My favourite weapons are never the ones that allow me to destroy wave after wave of enemies like it's nothing. The weapons I like are the ones that force me to take a breath, and act surgically. Recently bows fit this category perfectly, but before that it was Sniper Rifles (with extra points for being silenced sniper rifles).

Bolt-action sniper rifles are my favourite for just that reason. The 'I'm wrecking your joint like it's nothing' factor kills a game for me, ever since Resi 2 and the infini-rocket lanucher. There was just no point playing any more, I was an unhappy lass that day as my lack of self control killed it for me!

One of the most satisfying weapons in a recent game is the bolt action rifle in Bad Company 2 (I forget the name of it), but the increased power and reload time means if you're good, you get the rewards. If you suck, you get spotted and have a lot of ground to make up before a pissed-off target rushes you.

Game on!

I would have to go with the Cerebral Bore from Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, the BFG 9000 from Doom and the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2.
A lot of the guns from the early Turok stuff was great. The Cerebral bore just stood out from the rest. Another gun that was badass, fun, and annoying to get hit by was this pistol in Unreal Championship 2 for the XBOX. I have never had so much fun shooting giant nails at people and bolting them to the wall. Wish i could remember its name but it was used by the orange robot guy.

Then there was another gun in another unreal game. A story based one, torward the end you got this black hole gun that turned people into spaguetti as it slurped them up. Amazing.

Although not technically one gun, the sandman + Guillotine combo in TF2 was *amazing*. Love playing 2fort and getting a max stun on a sniper, then beaning the sniper with the guillotine from the other sniper area. Extreamly satisfying.

MCG in Planetside 2. Nothing more badass than sneaking up on 10 people launching rockets on a ridge and just mowing them all down with the MCG.

Come to think of it, i loved a lot of the guns from older games. That flak gun from the old unreal games. Instagib mode on Unreal championship 2. Shrink Ray in Duke nukem. (Haha, bonus points for using it in MP) Enlarge ray in Duke Nukem. Squishing someone in a giant door in duke nukem... Classic duke... gimme a graphical overhaul for Duke3D thats not the HR Mod. (impatiently waiting for Multiplayer to be implemented on Duke nukem on Steam.)
