Gotta go with Sephiroth, he was really the only video game enemy that made me go "oh shit oh shit OH SHIT!" every time he appeared on screen

Anton Girdeux. Sure he didn't do too much, but he was badass. Kind of like a Boba Fett thing.
"Anton Girdeux! I hope Rhoemer's paying you enough to die for him!" Sorry, had to do it. Love that game.
"Gabriel Logan, always the optimist." As do I, it's my favorite game of all time.

And to keep from derailing the thread, I'll throw Deadshot from Batman in too.

I would say the Joker from TDK. The only reason I've seen that movie more than once and depending on how you look at it "L" well he's more of the antagonist to the main character but he's fucking awesome so I must say him.

From movies, it's Agent Smith. From video games, it's either the Combine, or GLaDOS (Or maybe the Gman, if he actually is a villain. It's hard to tell with that asshole).

The Lich King
Arthas or original?
I also have to go with the Lich King, Arthas' version that is. He (Arthas) is probably my favourite character in the Warcraft universe just because of his back story and how he was characterized. I was sad that he had to die though...

Huh, nobody said Khan yet? Ok, he's a lousy villain, but this has got to be worth something:
He tasks me! He tasks me, and I shall have him! I'll chase him round the Moons of Nibia, and round the Antares Maelstrom, and round perdition's flames before I give him up!

I love the overacting in that movie.

You forgot one:

OT: ...Um... ya. Mine would be Pennywise the Dancing Clown from IT.
He's lacking a nemesis. What freak of hero shall he lust after?

Norsefire from V for Vendetta i dont care if they didnt seek to destroy the world they still take the cake in any dickishness contest only to be outdone but actual nazies and for the fun of it
"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition! The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V."

Gotta give my love to this guy

He really made the first game as memorable as it was to me, the lack of a real physical villain like him actually made Mass Effect 2 a bit poorer (plot wise) than it's prequel.
