Just a question, maybe get some new bands/groups/artists to listen to out of it.

Jeffery Nothing (Mushroomhead)- Powerful and haunting singing.

J-Mann (also Mushroomhead)- Powerful screaming, but he occasionally does it in a not so "in-your-face" way.

Till Lindemann (Rammstein)- Extremely deep and powerful (detecting a theme yet?). Can go from growling to clear
singing, and does both extremely well.

Ivan Moody (Namely, his work with Motograter)- Goes from some of the better screaming I've ever heard to some singing similar-ish to Jeffery Nothing.

Johnny Cash- Just a classic. Deep gravely voice that he knows how to use.

Jón Birgisson (Sigur Ros)- Ridiculously high voice, and uses it as an instrument just like a guitar or drums- something to add to the overall sound of the song, but not something that's absolutely crucial or forms the center of the entire structure (save the Med Sud album).

Serj Tankian (System of a Down)- Just...yeah. Screams and sings. Awesomely.

Maynard James Keenan (Tool, A Perfect Circle)- Pretty wide range, and does all of it well.

Mark Sandman (Morphine)- A deep, melodic, almost hypnotic voice on some of their songs. Truly amazing.

You left out Puscifer from his group listings.
His voice on Momma Sed is mesmerizing, and the way he sings Rev 22:20 is brilliant.

So, "Maynard" James Keenan is one of my favourites.

I like the way that Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) can swap so easily between clean and death vocals. Not to mention both forms of his voice are haunting.

Aaron Stainthorpe from My Dying Bride. I have yet to hear a voice with more melancholy.

Hansi Kursch from Blind Guardian/Demons & Wizards. Simply. Fucking. Brilliant.

I like Joss Stone and Johnny Cash. Aside from those two, I'm probably in the very small minority on this forum who almost exclusively listens to rap. The more "gangsta" the better too.

Oops. Teehee. And yes, Mikail Akerfeldt is awesome too.

Isaac Brock has a voice I like, I think his lisp is what I like most about it.

Also, I like Nick Urata's singing. I just love his accent.

Tim McIlrath (Rise Against. Very deep voice.)
I'm not usually into their type of music, but I like Rise Against, largely based on his voice.

My favorites are probably Thom Yorke (Radiohead), Jeff Mangum (Neutral Milk Hotel), Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), probably others...

Hmm..

Tarja Turunen, ex-Nightwish vocalist. I know her voice isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it gives me chills. Operatic and haunting, bombastic and sensual.. I adore her.

Roy Khan, from Kamelot. With a name like that, he better be awesome, and he is. A complete joy to listen to.

Angela Gossow (ArchEnemy), Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity) and Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth)are probably my three favourite growling/grunting metal vocalists.
Angela is so powerful and her voice is so full of energy.. She is amazing. Mikael can go from being melancholy and melodic, to shrieking and screaming, to actually singing, and he still sounds gorgeous and stunningly emotional.
And Johan.. He is just too damn manly. So much love for him, and his deep-growling in Asator make me shiver.

Elisa C. Martin, ex-Dark Moor vocalist (I'm not sure as to what she's doing now) is probably the only female power metal singer I've heard (not that there have been many) who can give the guys a run for their money. She's fantastic.

.. Um.. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them..

Wait. Edith Piaf (born 1915 - died 1963). Completely not what I usually listen to, but she just makes the French language sound so fun and lovely, then turns it around and puts so much emotion and power into it.. Just wow.

.. That's it, at the moment. No more rambling.

AMY LEE: I have a total girl crush on her, she has the voice of an angel descended on high with a choir of seraphins accompanying her descent. Translation: I like the way she sings. Mostly, people who sing well in bands on the radio, when they sing in person in concert they tend to kind of suck, but her voice somehow sounds even better...so pure and beautiful.....
