Actually all this reminds me of a time in stubbs where I ripped off both a cops arms and the ate his brains. After the armless zombie got back up a hail of gun fire cut off his legs and head... alas he still wasn't dead. Just a torso, still riggling. Couldn't move, but it was fun to watch. I guess it counts as a kill because the cop was technquely 'dead'.

any game where you can stick a grande to someone e.g. Gow or Halo is funny watching them make a madb ash for you and then seeing them go boom just short

sniping someone in the head through someone else While they're jumping in Halo 3 slayer - that was the flukiest snipe I've ever accomplished... (and any fluke-kill any of you have achieved - look back on those and tell me that some of them weren't cool
as for dying, I find big explosions are the most satislying, or taking your aggressor down with you (even better on halo 3 when you get a medal for it)

In Halo 3- going for a ride on a hornet and then falling 300 feet to the ground (Valhalla) and hitting some guy in the face with a hammer.

Putting down a grav life and jumping over a warthog all the while sniping the turret guy.

Dropping tanks on people in forge.

Making a gametype with hammers, max speed, low gravity, and grav lifts everywhere.

In any game - knocking someone into a lethal situation. Over an edge, into lava/acid/fire, onto spikes/mines, whatever works.

Also, killing someone by throwing a piece of furniture at them with the gravity gun in Half-Life 2. Imagine you're on the other side - you're hunting down a dangerous rebel who's slaughtered dozens of your comrades. You open fire with your assault rifle. He turns, and activates his weapon. A table comes flying at you, crushing your buddy. Then he activates his weapon again. The last thing you feel is a radiator crushing your guts...

I concur totally with Hitman: Blood Money for favourite kills: Exploding doughnuts, sniping people dressed as a giant chicken, strangling a guy as he whines to you about his anger problems, thinking you're his therapist. All cinematic, comical moments.

Best ways to die? Goes totally to TF2. I especially enjoy being chased around the entire map by the guy you're disguised as, to being butchered by four level three turrents, to having your own stickies being bat back at you by a scout if you're demo.

All wonderful.

RA2's terrorist trucks were always amusing, nothing like watching a base go up in flames courtesy of its own sentry guns. And in any console fps... if you can say "shit, I was looking at your screen!" while your char is falling off the edge of something tall, you know you're a winnar.

My favourite death though must be attributed to a bug. For about a day, something went wrong with the AI in my previous MMORPG. All of a sudden, an entire desert full of valuable diggables was completely free of all creatures great and small. The sight of the region chat when twenty people in light armour with no weapons found themselves surrounded by hundreds of spawning mobs with huge teeth was something I shall never forget.

I don't think I have one for 'being killed' that really sticks in the mind, but for Killing:

Scout batting a heavy to death in TF2. I'm not great at TF2, simple pleasures.

Timing a multiple Gas Strike against a big infantry rush in World in Conflict. Especially if its a whole bunch of AT infantry killing off all your tanks. Revenge heheh.

Also, using medium AA to mow down all kinds of units. I almost never use heavy AA, it just seems like too much investment in something that will just get one shotted by the first thing it comes across.

Finally, stopping a stealthy rear flag run in BF2142. Even better if the enemy guys are in a clan squad. When your whole team is just bashing away on the front lines, it just feels awesome to take down those sneaky people who thought they got away with it, defending the rear single handedly.

Killing people as Stubbs the Zombie is always great.

I agree with the Alien Hiss scare attack too.

I am wondering... Am I the only psycho who made spells to paralyze and torture enemies to death on Oblivion?

Plasma grenade, stuck right before you die in the Halos, kill from beyond the grave. Also getting the first kill as a zombie in the Infection gametype. Setting weapon damage to be maxed out and killing someone with a single bullet from an SMG.

The Jedi Knight series, using force grip to lift a storm trooper and A) use him as cover while his buddies shoot him B) use him to hit his buddies or C) simply throwing him over an edge. Also, using force pull to yank bad-guys weapons out of their hands and then stabbing them with the lightsaber.

Half life 1: toasting tentacles with a rocket engine.
Half life 2: Gravity gun + sawblade + zombie= zombie cut in half

the flamethrower in Return to Castle Wolfenstien

Bioshock: Telekenisis. Better than the gravity gun in HL2, I think. Hitting someone with a bicycle. Catching a grenade and throwing it back. Also: Insect swarm "would you like some bees?"

Fear: The sniper rifle in the game melts peoples flesh from thier bones, leaving only a steaming charred skeleton and a puddle of blood. The aforementioned shotgunning people into a fine red mist. Using the HV Penetrator to nail someone to the wall.

Getting killed: Dodging into a rocket instead of away.

To Kill:

Dark Templar Warp Blades and Spawn Broodlings in Starcraft. Great sound effect, and it must be the ultimate fear for those poor souls on the ground. With the former, you see your buddies getting dismembered by a one-shot kill blade, and both the blade and it's user are INVISIBLE. For the latter, it's like the process of an alien facehugger in superfast motion. And you get two baby aliens instead of one.

CQC-Dagger Kills in Metal Gear Solid 3. My advice is interrogate, then decapitate.

Enemy deaths in Perfect Dark/Goldeneye, mostly for the voices not the animations, though those can be kind of funny in a twisted way as well. ('Oh my GOD he's dead!', 'Jesus christ, someone hit her!'). There's also a glitch I remember where you could use the Reaper's mower function to put a human into an eternal seizure if you hit him enough- the ultimate torture!

To Be Killed:

Castlevania Symphony of the Night stands out for me here. Alucard releases a suprising amount of blood, then we're given an ominous jingle and some rather demonic laughter. 'Let us go out this evening for pleasure. The night is still young.' Is that from Bram Stoker's Dracula? I can't remember...

This may seem a little odd for mainstream gamers, but there is a little flash freeware game out there called N. It was a physics puzzle game, and was filled with annoying little sods of enemies. Anyhoo, my favourite lol death was when i was being chased by an electrified homing creature, ran into a laser creature (who promptly blew the crap out of me), my dead body hit a mine, and my limbs went flying everywhere into many more mines.

Is there not anyone here that have played "Heart Of Darkness"?

Well, basically, that game is a around ten years old 2-d platform-ish game about this boy that enters this somewhat strange alternate dimension in an attempt to save his dog that got kidnapped by some strange forces during a solar eclipse. Despite this perhaps sounding like a pretty childish game, it really got quite a few rather horrible deaths, despite there not being any blood in the game.

for example, there are times when I failed to jump out of a dead dinosaurs mouth in an attempt to reach a ledge, and got crushed in its jaws. you could see some pieces of cloth sticking out between it's teeth here and there along whit a broken leg hanging loosely down from the mouth pit.

Ive also seen him getting pulled into a hole in a wall by some sort of wall worm thing so that you just see his legs sticking out. You can then both hear and see him struggling for his life only to suddenly stop as you hear a scissor sort of sound.
I used to own this game. I don't know where it is now though. The bear hugs, drownings, and being eaten alive with your legs still hanging out disturbed me the most.

As I recall in Clive Barker's Undying every creature had a unique killing animation if they got ya... one of em decapitated ya, others would eat you, etc. I'll try and see if any of em are on Youtube.

Having a characters brains eaten by a Mindflayer in BG2 was also a pain. I mean, it's basically an attack that if it hits the character reduces their int by a certain amount, and if that characters int hits 0 their brains are officially bye-bye. Considering most fighters in the game ain't exactely the brightest bunch to start with ("I'm looking at you Minsc") and they've 'got' to get close in order to kill the buggers... yeah... many a reload because my frontline warriors all got their brains eaten and let the rest of my group get slaughtered. And don't even get me started on Elder Beholders or Vampires in that game either.... The horror...
Oh yeah...that was pretty cool. the skeletons ripped out your heart, ate it, then 360'd their heads. the snake-squid-graboid-cthulhu-things dragged you underground...ah, good times.
