Fallout: New Vegas is my favorite for the time being. It doesn't really seem to matter how much I play the damn thing I never run out of things to do.
I've played it way more than any other game in recent memory and I would geuss that it probably has the highest time owned/time played ratio of any game I own.

Jade Empire, hands down. The lore, the music, the atmosphere, the story, and of course the martial arts.

Dragon Age:Origin's, big reason being Morrigan. I love that accent wielding witch of snarky bitchiness.

BioWare's been doing their fare share of fucking up recently (still not on the level of Square Enix or Capcom however), but all will be forgiven if they drop, at least, a re-release of Jade Empire on the XBLA or something.

KotoR 2 + Awesome fan overhaul
Planescape. I'm only halfway through but just what I've played has already rocked the socks off almost every other game ever. The place I'm in right now was pretty lame though. Someone needs to pay Obsidian to make games with lots of text again.
KotoR

And then Deus Ex:HR I liked for it's RPG aspects.

The thing is, I wasn't really enjoying the Western aspects of these games, though. If hardcore WRPGs are Skryim, Oblivion and hardcore JRPGs are things like FFXIII, FFX, what I really enjoy is the story in KotoR 2 and Planescape, the missions are great and the character building, but they aren't why I'm playing the game. At the moment with Planescape, The Nameless One is a nice helpful guy and that in my head is the actual character, I don't feel like I'm roleplaying him because that's who he is to me. When I do do (<- crud(weak extinct like pun) like this is why English is not the best language in the world) an evil playthrough it's not going to be as cool.

Exploring isn't very important to me, open-worldness is not important at all. I actually prefer the linearity of JRPGs because I lose focus otherwise. The problem solving is the only aspect unique to a WRPG that I really like. It's pretty cool trying to find an optimal solution and knowing if you don't you're going to have to fall back to a weaker one.

I'm going to have to go with a few people here and say Oblivion. That game was magical for me, I absolutely adored it and spent many many MANY hours on it.

The Mass Effect series.
Morrowind (I didn't like Oblivion as much, haven't played Skyrim yet).
I really love Obsidian's writing, so KotOR 2 is a definite, but you have to play KotOR 1 first, which is also good, but I prefer KotOR 2.

I haven't yet played Fallout: New Vegas yet, but it is up next now that I've finished Mass Effect 3.

Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines or Planescape: Torment

The Geneforge series is definitely up there too.

Dragon Age Origins. My first real RPG, one could say, and one of the only ones I went into completely spoiler free.

Unmatched experience.

Definitely Fallout: New Vegas.

I never expected I would love the whole "rebuilding of civilisation and society" aspect of it so much.
Didn't you just say in another thread that the game bored you?

OP:

Probably Morrowind. It has a massive landscape (For the Xbox original)Hundreds of quests, almost no grinding involved, and its expansion packs really do feel like an expansion of the games universe. The downside is that the animations haven't aged well, but besides that it a good game.

p.s it also helps that you played oblivion first. Trust me.

Baldur's Gate 1& 2 & Neverwinter Nights (plus all of it's expansions & DLC & the sequel).

My lazy ass still has Oblivion & Dragon Age sitting in a pile of games I have yet to open up & play.
