Left 4 Dead of course. I know that sounds like a "everyone else likes it and so should I!" choice but there's a reason why everyone likes it. It is definitely one of the best games I've ever played.

Also I did enjoy Dead Rising and Resident Evil 4 (I know their not "technically" zombies in RE4, but if you feel the need to point it out then you're a douche)

Resident Evil 4. And yes, the Ganados count as damn zombies.
Whether a parasite or a virus, if it lowers brain function and makes you want to eat people, it makes you a zombie.

The game incorporated a creepy atmosphere, eerie immersiveness, balanced action, replayable depth, creative enemies, and the little special magic that lets you know you're playing a great game.

The Ganandos weren't cannibals. So by your definition they weren't zombies. Other than that I agree with everything you have said.

Left 4 Dead is just plain awesome. It's fast-paced and it makes the worst FPS player feel good, if only due to the number of zombies there are and how quickly they die.
Zombie Panic Source is pretty fun too, but it is definitely a different kind of zombie game.

If not, I choose Resident Evil for the GameCube as the best Single PLayer Zombie Game.
L4D undoubtly the best Multiplayer Zombie game.

Left 4 Dead without a doubt. Resident Evil, Dead Rising were awful games. Resident Evil was a much better game than Dead rising, but compared to L4D, it's nothing.

I don't know if this counts because technically they are a recombant alien lifeform that mutate dead bodies but I would have to say Dead Space.

Shouldn't this thread be titled: "How many people love L4D?"

Anyway, I'm gonna buck the trend and vote for Resident Evil 2. It had the best elements of RE1 without being overly stingy on the ammo and was full of good scares.

L4D is great, but it does get a bit old rather quickly. I can only run around with the melee button held in VS mode for so long before I become a bit bored of my 180 shield of protection.

I honestly enjoy L4D more than any other zombie game, but honourable mention goes to Res4.

Also, I don't see the big deal about Dead Rising. Its gameplay is(Mostly) slow, the story is just horrible, and the controls are clunky. I couldn't ever manage to finish it, I got past that first psycho guy you fight, up to the point where you save the old guy. It was just horrible.

I'll stick to that or perhaps the original Resident Evil (or rather, the REmake).

I wouldn't touch the REmake even if it was free; CAPCOM need to learn that camp is the only thing keeping people coming back to their lackluster zombie sequels. I have the first three REs for PSX and I wouldn't abandon them for anything. As much as I love Dead Rising, I still love the PSX Resident Evil games more.

Have you played the Remake? It's so much better than the original game. Then only disappointment is no infinite magnum.

Anybody play anything else besised Left 4 Dead? Mine would either be Blood, Brain Bread (Half Life mod) or Resident Evil for Gamecube.
