Im just curious what you consider is your most favourate 'Classic' game you have completed. For Example my choice is REALMS OF THE HAUNTING. this one came out in 1997 from Gremlin studios.

It was basically one of those point and click adventure games that evolved into WASD movement.

Activision's 1999 strategy game, Civilization: Call to Power, that game had so many features that the other games in the series just couldn't match. I'm upset though because I can't get it to run on my computer anymore. Oh well...

Wow, is 1997 already classic? You just made me feel really (really) old. Am I allowed to answer with games that came in monochrome green variety or is this strictly 90s games?

Hmmm, thats a tough call. I can't decide between Computer or Console favorite game. I'm going to have to go with *drum roll* 'Zombies Ate My Neighbors' on the Sega Genesis. Nothing compares to the fun of fighting a giant baby with just a super soaker. The absurdity of that game was only rivalled by fun had playing it.

As long as it is your all time favourate its fine.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Donkey Kong or Super Mario Bros. If those aren't classics I'm not entirely sure what are.

I wrote a really long explanation on why I couldn't answer this, but then it got me thinking and I decided to turn it into a writing project. I'll post it later.

I find this thread interesting, considering my favourite game is actually a collection of classic games, namely Megaman X Collection (well, the later games aren't that old, but at least they're considered old/classic enough to be put into a collection).

The first Megaman game I played was a demo of Megaman X on the PC. Never owned an NES or SNES though. Played MMX, MMX3, and MM7 back in my emulating days. Then got both Megaman collections on the Gamecube.

If I were to pick a favourite game out of the series, I'd go with X5, but that's not really much of a classic (it came out in 2000), so I'd go with Megaman X1. Or going further back than that, Megaman 3.

Starcraft is quite worth mentioning as well.

Realms Of The Haunting was excellent, but my favourite classic for PC is Master Of Magic and my favourite classic game is Elite.

Rocket Knight Adventures. And the sequel. That and Sonic made me addicted to roleplay myself as the characters when nobody was looking in my younger days.
But it was really nice, not a deep storyline but a pleasant one, like Sonic's old one. And you controlled a knight that could suddenly rocket boost itself towards the enemies while slashing them to half. How cool is that? OH! And there are giant robots. It is a win-win all around.

I still have maps of the tech tree from that.

Older games...the first Myst, where I'd just wander around looking at everything, and Ocarina of Time, where I first learned to despise water temples.

Why, Resident Evil of course!
Complete with terrible graphics, moaning zombies and bad acting!
