Live After Death - Iron Maiden

Hounds of Love- Kate Bush

Downward Spiral- NIN

Outside - David Bowie
Yay Kate Bush!!! I would also say Tori Amos- Boys for Pele. That's all that I can think of right now.
Double yay Kate Bush... what a voice, what a face, what a talent... she's a goddess.

As for Tori Amos, Little earthquakes and boys for Pele, all time greats. 'Winter' can reduce me to a snivelling wreck in the first four lines...

'Snow can wait, I forgot my mittens
Wipe my nose, get my new boots on
I get a little warm in my heart when I think of winter
I put my hand in my fathers glove'

And then it's waterworks... yes I am a sap.

After the Beatles, Tori was my first real obsession. Kate's the original but Tori has a special place in my heart. I'm glad someone else on here has good taste ;)
As am I, my friend.

My all time favorite Kate Bush song is not on Hounds of Love though, it is the shimmering masterpiece that is The Sensual World. That song is musical sex.

Andrew W.K. - I Get Wet, that or Billy Joels - 12 Gardens.
Ha I love I Get Wet too, it's such a great album to just throw on and jump around like a twat. Killer riffs in some of the songs and the production is HUGE.
Andrew WK is such a blast. I think the first five songs on that album are at exactly the same tempo. Such a good party album, speaking of which, I think 4 or 5 of the 12 tracks have the word 'party' in the title. Have you ever seen an interview with Andrew? He's really well spoken and thoughtful. It's just a funny contrast to his musical stylings.

hard to say,

I'm really digging Deathconsciousness by Have a Nice Life. Diadem of the 12 stars by Wolves in the throne Room is quite epic. I can listen to Catch Without arms by dredg and either or by Elliott smith start to finish over and over again.

Not exactly the most influential albums ever, but my personal favorites are The End of Heartache by Killswitch Engage and The Fall of Ideals by All That Remains.

That's a hard decision with so many good artists... right now it would be Sol Niger Within by Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, it's visceral and a breathtaking musical accomplishment.

Rob Dougan-Furious Angels, Clubbed to death is a classic track.
Weezer-Blue Album.
Chemical Brothers-Dig your Own Hole
Queens Of The Stoneage-Songs For The Deaf, Song For The Dead, Dave just rocks on the drum section, especially the opening part.

A Matter of Life and Death- Iron Maiden
Beethoven's Last Night- Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Runnin' Wild- Airbourne

Those are the only three I can think of for now, but if I had to narrow it down to one, it would be A Matter of Life and Death.

if hes referring to B.Y.O.B as a song i disagree with him if hes talking about the hypnotize mesmerize double album than yes that is one of my top five albums as it stands my top 3 list would probably look something like this.

black sabbath-greatest hits because while i own all of there albums(with ozzy singing anyway) it is impossible to choose the best

rage against the machine-battle for los angelas ive been listing to the edited version of guerilla radio since 2nd grade when it was in the 4th tony hawk game (i think) and that coupled with sleep now in the fire is just absolute genius

finally AC/DC-razors edge because hell everyone picks back in black but half those people have never heard any one of there other albums for me the songs thunderstruck and the razors edge make this one of there least recognized and in my opinion best albums.

sorry for the essay but im a huge music guy and i could go on for hours about this stuff and also this is my first post so yay!

man that is a bloody tough one...if not impossible to answer...

is it the record where you know the word to every song or is it the record that has been played more often in your collection than any other?

does a record that got played more than any other record 10 years ago but hasn't been played more than 5 times since count?

what if your state of mood shifts, does your record choice change?

do compilations count?

i have asked too many questions but throwing the dart, i will pick as my #1(reserving the right to change my mind at any time):

The Clash - The Clash (U.S. print edition)

special mentions go to:
Style Council - Introducing the Style Council
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Jimmy Cliff - The Harder They Come (Soundtrack from the movie)
Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You
Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground & Nico

Just watched a few there, quite surprising, I was expecting him to be less... eloquent. He's funny too, his video blogs about shampoo and mother's day were great.

Nevermind by Nirvana. Nirvana are awesome, and this is filled with some of their best songs.
I agree. This was the first album I ever owned myself, and the first album I really, truly appreciated, which says a lot for it because I was very young at the time. It's probably not the best Nirvana album in my book (I think In Utero is a masterpiece) Nevermind is the one that means the most to me.
