What I love about that scene is that it's not an artful duel but a desperate struggle for survival. Plus, The Secret of NIMH is my favourite animated movie, so every scene is great as far as I'm concerned.SoranMBane said:The fight between Justin and Jenner in The Secret of NIMH.
Besides the nostalgia that it invokes in me, it's just a really well-crafted scene. It's oddly brutal and realistic for something that involves cartoon rodents, and I'd even consider it my favourite sword-fighting scene in any movie, animated or not.
I was just about to post Freaky Fred, but you beat me to it! Honestly, Courage the Cowardly Dog is one of those shows that becomes more and more disturbing as you get older and look back at it.Dfskelleton said:Any of the moments from this episode. They really picked the perfect voice actor for such a character.
In fact, nearly half of the moments in this ENTIRE SERIES are favorites of mine. Courage the Cowardly Dog had such a powerful way of delivering pure nightmare fuel to children, and they managed to get away with it for 4 long seasons too. I think it's more than partly responsible for horror being my favorite genre.
It also had a good occasional dose of mentally scarring psychological terror (See Below)
RUNNER UP:
I never saw this on TV, but I really like it. Not only because I love that song, but because the visual style is so surreal, especially for an old cartoon.
And the fact that the long-legged thing is actually voiced by Cab Calloway helps.
cheating my ass .... Dinobot was a bossburningdragoon said:A scene(s) from a certain episode of Beast Wars called Code of the Hero. (kind cheating since it's really not a single scene)

I agree with the description too:
"There are two possibilities: either this is one of the most touching, powerful and heroic scenes ever depicted in Transformers; or you're dead inside and a terrible person."
o.o wow ... i have GOT to get back into RvB, that was awesome. The Abhorrent said:Got a couple classics here...

I can't say if it's more funny or awesome, and there's nothing more to say.

Glad you liked it... Just wanted to say that FOX is turning it into a live action movie and the guy who made the short is directing and handling the transformation so... Yeah...snappydog said:THAT is amazing, thank you for bringing that phenomenal piece of work into my life...Lt._nefarious said:ROSA... All of it... That moment with Azula at the end is just fantastic, but then, every Azula moment in Sozin's Comet is fantastic.TheKasp said:Ah, this thread. Okay, lets see if my favorite has been posted... hmm, OP posted it. Maybe second (Flash)? Nope, already page 1. Maybe Supermans speech to Darkseid? Nope.
Well, then the one Avatar fight that hasn't been posted yet which was disturbing and tense at the same time:
The perspective, the timing, the few spoken lines, the colours used, the animation quality of the moves themselfes... No, no scene from any anime / cartoon can top this. They have yet to display the amount of unrealism in such a realistic way.
This little fight shows the development Zuko went through, the mental state of Azula and how she thought of everyone else in terms of power.
"I'm sorry it has to end this way, brother!" "No, you're not."
