And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie- I may not be the best example, but I could not figure out who it was until the end.

Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
Absolutely epic from start to finish, especially the seventh book

Skellig by David Almond
Beautifully written and completely unique

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
The only book that's got me trying to solve puzzles before reading on

Airship and Skybreaker by Kenneth Oppel
One of the first fantasy books I read and still one of my favourites today

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
Bored stupid by it because of coursework, but the in-depth study reveals a fantastic read

The "Foundation" books are probably the only one I've felt the need to reread a zillion times. Loved both the story and most of the characters. Hats off to Asimov.

It's a long list, but here are the top five:

1) Italo Calvino - Invisible Cities
2) J.R.R. Tolkein - The Lord of the Rings
3) Alexandre Dumas, pere - The Three Musketeers
4) Miguel de Cervantes - Don Quixote
5) Bernard Cornwell - The Warlord Chronicles (Technically cheating, as it's three books, but still)

1) Kiss the Girls: James Patterson.

Kiss the Girls is my favorite book out of the whole Alex Cross series, of which I absolutely adore and goes second on this list.

3) The Cobra Event: Richard Preston. This book has made me rethink becoming an anesthesiologist and instead pursue a career in biological engineering. It also made me wonder what foreign countries are doing with their viruses. I highly recommend it.

4) The Da Vinci Code: Dan Brown.

5) Resident Evil Novelizations: S.D. Perry. I've read all but Nemesis, and quite frankly, I don't plan on reading it.
