Call me old school but Dragonhalf, City Hunter, plus some like Chobits, Read or Die and Chrono Crusade can have some good comedy elements

Didn't Dragon Half only have like 2 episodes?

Hmmm... Well, 'Lucky Star' had some good funny bits. but I think I prefer 'Nyan Koi!' for the comedy.
Quite a few parts made me laugh. But it is a subbed only anime. No dubs available.
But I suppose that keeps it funny.

Harima Kenji is the most awesome son of a ***** in the world, or atleast in Japan.

Quodos to that one. I loved the moments in School Rumble where Harima imagined himself in manga series; him always being the hero character and Tenma as his heroine or princess. Especially loved the one where he imagined her eing aducted away by aliens.

I always have a soft spot for that Godzilla-sized chief editor and his tiny little dog.

I never read the comic, but I heard it ends on an extremely sour note.

I've never watched any Anima besides the cesspool that is Dragon-ball Z and an occasional episode of Death Note. I'm kind of hoping something from here is good, but I can't check anyway because I don't even know any places where I could watch it. Is there anything online like Hulu?

Desert Punk, English Dub is sooo damn funny. Trigun is a great action comedy and for Love Hina is great as well.

Welcome to the NHK is kinda good. But i still think that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is the best anime in every genre it contains, comedy included.

English Dub Black Lagoon, as much as Subs are usually better, I can't help but laugh at the English dub for it with it's insane about of high end swearing, seriously.

I know that Bleach is often very serious, but that makes the random, hilarious moments soo much better. To add to the post, I don't wath that much anime, soo, my argument is probably invalid anyway.

Full Metal Panic Fumoffu (I didn't think the main series was that good, but I thought those episodes were hilarious).

Just the other way around for me. FMP had a serious background story that appealed to me and fumoffu was just too much slapstick.

Well to be honest I've never been a fan of mecha anime.. I could generalise and say it's just because it's a guy thing, but really I think it's probably just because so much of an episode is spent talking about the machines and things in words that aren't intended to be understood.
I did like the main story, but the segments with them just focusing on the technology I find kinda boring
