?Fairy Tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.?
-G. K. Chesterton

That's one of the greatest things I heard. (first time I heard it, was when I was having a really shitty year, this made me suck it up and keep going)

also, from AGOT:

Qyburn: There will be pain.

Jaime: I?ll scream.

Qyburn: A great deal of pain.

Jaime: I?ll scream very loudly.

There was a great deal of humor.
I laughed very loudly.

Pippin: I didn't think it would end this way.
Gandalf: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path... One that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass... And then you see it.
Pippin: What? Gandalf?... See what?
Gandalf: White shores... and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
Pippin: [smiling] Well, that isn't so bad.
Gandalf: [softly] No... No it isn't.

Why that? I was watching that movie about three weeks after my Dad passed away suddenly, and this fucking scene almost destroyed me.

"Relationships don't work the way they do on television and in the movies. Will they? Won't they? And then they finally do, and they're happy forever. Gimme a break. Nine out of ten of them end because they weren't right for each other to begin with, and half of the ones who get married get divorced anyway, and I'm telling you right now, through all this stuff, I have not become a cynic, I haven't. Yes, I do happen to believe that love is mainly about pushing chocolate covered candies and, y'know, in some cultures, a chicken. You can call me a sucker, I don't care, because I do believe in it. Bottom line is: it's couples who are truly right for each other wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they don't let it take them down. One of those two people will stand up and fight for that relationship every time. If it's right, and they're real lucky, one of them will say something."

Gotta love Dr Cox. He is the reason why I'm inclined to watch Scrubs if/when it's on.
Two very lovely quotes.

"Sucking at something is the first step at becoming sorta good at something."
-Jake, Adventure Time.

Fantastic cartoon. In my opinion one of the best ones in a while, if not ever.

"Everyone has something to bring to this discussion, but from now on I think what you should bring is silence" (possible slight paraphrasing)
-Arnold Judas Rimmer BSc SSc

"I am the very model of the scientist Salarian
I've studied species Turian, Asari and Batarian
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology)
because I am an expert (which I know is a tuatology)
My xenosscience studies range from urban to agrarian,
I am the very model of the scientist Salarian

For some reason, one quote from the first series of Red Dwarf has stuck in my mind:

'Love is a device invented by bank managers to make us overdrawn.'
