hmmm... I guess I liked Amelie... I remember is watching in french gcse and the "quinze orgasmes" bit, that was funny.

Actually no, there was a korean one or something with a huge mutated fish or something that terrorised the waterfront... no idea what the name is... funny, weird and awesome film though.
It's called The Host, it's awesome.

And Amelie is one of the sweetest, funniest movies. Good taste fella.

I'm gonna play my English card, and say Batman Begins, Fight Club or Kill Bill Vol. 1.

If I'm not allowed those, I guess Pan's Labyrinth gets the prize.

Oh yeah I see some Tarkovsky film lovers here! :D

The only Tarkovsky films I watched thus far are Solyaris and Stalker, and they instantly become my favorite films!
That 2002 hollywood remake of Solaris starring George Clooney was terrible, and is even more terrible in comparison to the superior Tarkovsky 1970s version of Solyaris. To think that I watched the 2002 Solaris before I watched the 1970 Solaris lol.

Other foreign films I like (as I couldn't choose just one):
Brother/Brat 1 & 2
Irony of Fate
Oldboy
Seven Samurai
Rashomon

Hehe its funny seeing that some films counted as "Forgien" to some of you guys, is a home-film for me. I mean technically I could make a list of every Dvd I own thats not made in the UK and say that but i'm gonna for something truly foreign (Ie not of my language lol)

District 13, Hands down.

One of my favourite films ever nevermind forgien films.

If you have not seen it (or the sequel) your missin out on a real treat :)

Run Lola Run! was a very good movie.
Yes, very much so.

I am hard-pressed to come up with ONE fave foreign film, so I'll just note a small list:
Alice by Jan ?vankmajer
Once Upon a Time in the West by Sergio Leone
El Mariachi by Robert Rodriguez
Azumi by Ryuhei Kitamura (While the manga-to-movie translation wasn't great, it was still a fun watch, so I'm tossing it up.)

I'd add some John Woo and Chow Yun-Fat flicks, along with other Leone or Kurosawa flicks, but I wanted to keep my list short. :(

Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior and Ong Bak 2

Two of my favorite martial arts movies. They have some of the most amazing fight scenes I have ever seen. The first one starts off pretty slow, but once the action picks up, its so good. I like the second one because its so much different from the first, but still has the same feel to it.

Can't wait for Ong Bak 3.

Some films which people haven't mentioned yet
Amores Perros ([link]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0245712/[/link]) is very good but doesn't seem to have got much attention, probably due to the fact that its one of the most unapologetically gritty and depressing movies I've ever seen
Also check out La Vita est Bella ([link]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118799/[/link])
Seventh Seal ([link]http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050976/[/link]) is a classic as well

Dekalog - Polish film, about 9 hours split into 10 parts about human nature and grey areas of life we deal with. A rare work of genius that all film fans should see once.
