Splinter Cell... Michael Ironside like a boss
Hells yes! Don't forget Don Jordan as Lambert (or even Dennis Haysbert in PT).

If I had to choose another one, I'd probably go with the King Kong game. It helped that it had all of the same voice actors as the movie.

Certainly worth mentioning:

Mike Patton as The Darkness. Sound and atmosphere made that game more than just a simple shooter.

Vampire: Bloodlines. I loved it. I felt like the characters were actually alive. Like Jeanette, Velvet Velour, Beckett or Bertram. Even LaCroix. They were so special and so expressive in their portrayal.

Also, Neverwinter Nights 2. Neeshka's dock introduction or Bishop's anger that could be felt through the words were awesome. And who could forget Sand?

I guess I'll be the first to say it... Half-Life 2
I still think I'd enjoy it more if Freeman had a voice. And it was Charlie Sheen.
Gordon Freeman is a total freaking rockstar from mars.
I'm afraid there's one rockstar from mars, and his name is Ziggy.

Ot: The ending sequence(can't spell that i know) has perfect use of voice acting for dramatic effect.

Yeah definitely Portal 2. I mean come on that stuff was absolutely brilliant.

I'm looking forward to the CoD zombies map too now that it has Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddy Kruger and George A fucking Romero in it. And I don't even play online.

The Ratchet & Clank and Uncharted games are always voiced amazingly.

And a HUGE ROUND OF APPLAUSE for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, for being last years best voice acted game I think.

Oh, and the Oddworld games have never missed a beat with sound design and voice acting. Even Elum is voiced better than everyone else in any game ever...

I seriously cannot believe no one has mentioned it yet, but concerning voice acting, my gold goes to the Legacy of Kain series. ALL OF THEM. Seriously, Simon Templeman, Michael Bell and Tony Jay are like the holy trinity of voice acting. That, AND the incredibly eloquent script just makes these games a delight to listen to, even if the cutscenes do drag on sometimes.

Portal 2.

This game is based largely on the voice acting capabilities of GlaDOS

Crimson Skies and Interstate '76 absolutely take the cake here, though I'll give Just Cause 2 a mention because if the atrocious bad accents in the dialogue was intentional, then their vision of a true balls-out action Summer blockbuster was absolutely nailed on the head!

Red Dead Redemption.

Not just the amazing performance of John Marston, but every character really seems to take their character seriously and put a lot of feeling and attention to their characters. Really comes through as some of the most convincing digital characters in any game I've ever played.

Actually goes for just about every Valve game, small parts like the turrets in Portal or all the personalities of the The Team in TF2 just do wonders do how much you enjoy their games and all the polish put into them.

That and BioWare of course, but everyone knows that...

Portal 2 is truly awesome on the voice acting side, I loved and it's one of the reasons I'd replay it repeatedly!

BioShock. Every time Cohen, Ryan, Fontaine or Atlas started talking I stopped all movement to hear every word. Also, bonus points for the characters almost never being physically there and still selling their lines.

Baldur's Gate II. I rolled another character the other day and decided to look up the voice actors. Anomen's is Robert Paulson, who's only been in EVERY cartoon I watched as a kid (f.e. Pinky from Pinky & the Brain, David Warner voiced Irenicus, Jason Marsden voiced Cernd... all actors I adore.
Basically though, Bioware games always have great voice acting. I found the Dragon Age (Origins, Awakening and II) cast to be a treat, as well as ME2's.

I'm probably one of the only people who hated Half-Life 2's voice acting. The NPCs had about five voices between them, and their continuous "OMG IT'S FREEMAN" got on my nerves. The important NPCs never managed to sound real to me; it was all fake, play-acting.

Uncharted 2 is pretty damn good for voice acting.

Also, the Mass Effect series, Portal 2....You know. The things that people are saying every other post.

Portal 2. Stephen Merchant and Ellen McLain basically make the game.

I entered the thread searching for a LoK mention!
Couldn't agree more, astounding performance!
