Well, the only manga I've read was Berserk, so... someone from that I guess.

Um... the random mermaid chick? It was pretty funny when she saw her tail for the first time and promptly flipped out.

Or the demon fetus? He was cool.

Actually, Griffith is interesting. Although I'm not quite sure what his deal is yet. It would be awesome if he actually had some kind of sympathetic goal in mind rather than just being evil.

Eh, clearly the jury is still out.

Almost everyone from full metal alchemist.
I've never seen a series with such a large cast handled so well.

Ah Al, how you never cease to be a good character....

Another one of my favorite characters probably has to be the bad guy of Deadman Wonderland's second arc. He's crazy, but still a favorite.

*Is currently in thinking mode to look for his most favorite character from all the mangas he has read in 5 years*

......You know what? Don't remember and don't care. I'll just tell you my current ones.

Laxus from Fairy Tail. I thought he was a prick originally. But then he started to get a lot better recently and I really like him now.

Zebra from Toriko. Before I got into reading Toriko I saw a colored Image of Toriko and Zebra face to face. He was just so awesome! Just seeing that face with a ripped mouth got me into reading it.

Guts from Berserker.......I'm going to assume why you guys already know why I like him. It isn't that hard to like this amazing character with possibly the best back story I have seen in a very long time

Thorfinn from Vinland Saga. Come on, the guy is from Iceland and is loosely based off Þorfinnr "Karlsefni(The essence of a Man)" Þórðarson. Of course I am going to like him!

Well my favorite manga at the moment is The Breaker: New Wave so my opinions a little skewed but I'll choose Shiwoon Yi.
His development over the course of the manga is amazing.
A kind gentle soul brought into the underground world of martial arts to slowly rise in strength and ability.
I can't really say much more without ruining stuff but READ IT.

Though all time anime favorite has to be Senjougahara, queen of tsundere.

You must read Denpa Kyoushi.
Think Great Teacher Onizuka meets The World God Only Knows, with the main character also being on my list for favourites.
Do it, you will not regret it.

Noda or Yui from Angel Beats (Noda's a great minor character just for his comic relief, although he does have a side for sympathy; Yui, if I said anything I'd spoil the show, but THEM FEELS)

Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist/Brotherhood (his character development throughout the entire show is just awesome, and how it builds into the ending was just brilliant)

Renton or Eureka from Eureka Seven (Renton's the classic example of lameass who becomes a badass hero, but it's done so well with his characterization, and Eureka reverse mirrors it, from being a cold badass, to being a confused girl who develops feelings)

Simon from Gurren Lagann (his characterization is fantastic, and how he grows to become the hero through such hardships was amazing)

Saeko Busujima from Highschool of the Dead (I disliked her the first time, but after going back through it, she's one of my favorites not because she doesn't have flaws, but how her flaws play into her character)

Naruto Uzumaki or Hinata Hyuga from Naruto/Shippuden (initially he starts out really goddamn annoying, but grows throughout the story; Hinata is awesome because 1. she's adorably shy and 2. she constantly strives to be better because of the one person in the world who matters to her)

Senji 'The Crow' from Deadman Wonderland (he's just too badass)

Black Star from SoulEater (I like him personally because of how he differs from other main characters/heroes, instead of constantly whining about needing to get stronger, he just straight up trains his ass off to become better, not to mention his partnership with Tsubaki is amazing)

Right now it's a tie between these two

Saitama/One-Punch Man - With great power comes great baldness

Koiwai Yotsuba - Her innocence is infectious

You would be thinking of Ginkaku. Agree on the crazy part, but he is friggin' annoying.

You mean pre- or post Godhand Griffith?

Before Griffith becomes part of the Godhand, I think the point isn't why he has megalomaniacal ambitions , but that he has 'm so that they conflict with his relationship with Guts.

OT: I'd also like to give a shout out to Lufa from Dragon Half. She's basically Eric Cartman, but as an elf girl.

Um... Gasai Yuno from Mirai Nikki. 'Cos she's insane, in the most interesting way to read about.
Closely followed by Ashirogi Muto (is that cheating, since it's actually two people..?) from Bakuman, for their sheer determination. Also Niizuma Eiji from the same series and L from Death Note.
...
I like Ohba and Obata's characters.

Dark Schnieder from the BASTARD! series.
(the guy with the white hair)

This guy is really great, he is some sort of ultimate evil sorcerer guy who has his soul trapped in some kid. Like the nintails in Naruto except, the kid isnt the main character or even very interesting. All his spells are rock references like Metallica and mega death. Unlike most Wizards he likes close quarters combat, and has a fire sword with a demon in it. Bastard is just a great manga its got humour, violence, explosions, boobs, mascot characters, nose bleeds, men being punched by women for perceived slights, monsters, magic and basically everything a manga should.

Rock Lee

Started as an absolute nobody with zero talent.

Through hard work and extreme dedication, turned into a damn fine fighter.
