What is your current favourite game that was recently released.. (Released in the last 50 days). For me this would have to be Alan Wake. Why? I just finished playing a session.. it was intense. Let me paint the picture.

Im running through a dark forest, Im sure theres something after me. The music changes to something darker.. And I see a generator a few metres ahead. The enemies can't hurt me in the light, and the generator is attached to a street light. I break out into a dash. Closing in on it, an 'a' button appears for me to turn it on. To start it, it requires me to press 'a' 3 times, when the wheel minigame spins and has the 'a' directly up. First rotation, everything is fine. Second rotation.. a shadowy figure holding an axe appears before me, just a few metres away. Two and a half rotations in, and hes lifted his axe. Just before he strikes, the third rotation finishs, and the shadowy figure melts away.

Fucking Intense.

Splinter Cell Conviction on the sole basis of it being the only game released in the last 50 days that I have bought.

I have bought better and older games more recently such as Batman Arkham Asylum, but you had to be evil and limit the options.

I hope you are proud.

Hmm... I don't know. RD:R and Alan Wake are both great for different reasons. I want to check out Split/Second, but I doubt it'll be nearly as good as those two. I'd say out of all the recents games I've played though, I think I'd have to go with Red Dead. It has so much to do without getting to dull and multiple fast travel options to get around the giant map. Alan Wake is pretty awesome as well though.

I don't have any games released in the last 50 days, apart from Red Dead Redemption. Unless Final Fantasy 13 was. I can't remember.
I haven't played either much because I've got exams, but I will next week though, in my week break.

Left 4 Dead 2, if you could call that recent. Same with Bad Company 2.

Oh, I like Left 4 Dead 2 because it is addicting and endlessly replayable and Bad Company 2 is just fun.

Unfortunately no games I own fit this category.

Last 50 days that I'd like to play; Alan Wake.

Last 6 months (I consider this recent) Dragon Age: Origins.

As I've not played any games (beyond google pacman) in about 2 months due to exam study and assignments I think 6 months is recent.

MLB 10: The Show. It was released about 2 months ago, I believe. I really enjoy playing baseball games, so it's usually a game I pick up yearly.

Well it wasn't released recently, infact the game hasn't been released at all yet. But i got my key recently for the Starcraft 2 beta and have been playing practically nonstop, dusk till dawn etc etc.

I hadn't played the first Starcraft and after getting used to SC2 i really regret not playing SC1. It's just so awesome how intense some games can get, and constantly needing to be aware of all your forces, all your resources and practically the whole map is just so difficult, but so rewarding when you a manage it all right.

I think Metro 2033 came out in the last 2 months, so that counts.

Very, very good game. I would say it's the best first person linear game since Half Life 2. So tense, graphics are great, shooting is great, it's all great.

Napoleon: Total War in close second.
Really?
I had very low expectations for it. I wasn't really interested at all but I trust your judgement (for no reason whatso ever).

How good, scale of 1-10?

Recently? Heavy Rain. Wait, that was about 3 months ago.

Um...I still vote Heavy Rain.

I don't need to explain myself.

Demon's Souls, easily.

Everything about it - setting, gameplay, character design. All phenomenal.

I've not had that much fun in a long time.

Monster Hunter Tri was fun for a few weeks for me, but then I got some older games (Saints Row 2, Assasins Creed 2 and UFC 2009) and I basically quit playing the Wii again. I'm going to love RD:R so just put that as my choice even though I still have a week before I get it.

Just Cause 2.

Normally, I'm a fan of story-telling, but the obscene nature and beauty of this game makes all that irrelevant and thats a good thing because there is very little story in JC2 - I've had weeks of fun just dicking about and I've only done 2 actual missions.

Just cannot remember the last time I had so much fun in a game.

You mean Metro 2033?

Out of 10, 9. It's very engrossing, very varied, has a great narrative and great set pieces. The only downsides are that it has little replay value, the AI can be a bit squify, and it needs a powerful computer. Or you could just play it on 360.

It's definitely worth the money though, as long as you don't mind a totally linear experience.
Yeah so I'm pretty much going to get it now.

Thanks. =]
