What is your favourite SNES game?
A long time ago my Mum sold my SNES for £15 while I was out of the house.
I only have a few vague memories of the games that I used to play.
My top 5 were:

Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Cart
Some F1 Game where I was permanently on the grass
Super Battle Ships
Star Fox

They were all fairly awesome imo.
Any stories and lists are more than welcome.

It still holds a special place in my heart for the want has never truly gone away.

but of the games Ive actually played.. Mario 3 was, and still is. the king.

btw, mario 2 was a nes game.

Sadly I never had a SNES, I do however remember playing A link to the past at a friend's house and loving it, so I'll go with that one.

Was the SNES backwards compatible then? because the SNES was the first console I ever played and it was definitely 2 =/

There was a Mario collection released for the snes.
It contained Mario Bros 1,2,3 and the incredibly hard lost levels.

Haven't actually played it yet, but I just know that Secret of Mana would steal my heart away. If its anywhere near as good as Legend of Mana. For what I've played, Kirby Super Star.

Mario kart was genius. It caused no end of violence.

I got my Snes for street fighter II. I still remember getting the pack with SFII and 2 controllers.

Secret of Mana was the best 3 player game ever. It oozed charm.

Super Metroid was mint, as was Bomberman, super castlevania, F zero, Super Aleste, Pilotwings, MKII, Super Probotector. I could go on and on.

The 16 bit era was magic. I played just as many must have genesis games.

I'm so glad my SNES is still working.

That's a nearly impossible question. Hmmm Super Mario World 2? No, wait A Link to the Past? Secret of Mana? Super Street Fighter II? Kirby Superstar? Megaman X series? Earthworm Jim 1&2? the Donkey Kong Country series?

Crap, I don't know too many.

Mario and Contra were the games of my SNES. My friend also had Chip and Dale game. Fun, but frustrating bosses ;p

I'd have to say Super Mario World. It's still very playable. And the secret Star Street levels were hard as nails.

Also loved mariokart. Still the best version of the balloon battle.

I did enjoy starfox a lot but just found it too damn hard. Couldn't get very far in it at all. Did anyone else find this or did I just suck at it?

Just as an aside -- Rise of the Robots was a game I payed well over the odds for and it was completely terrible.
