Super Probotector. I could go on and on.
The 16 bit era was magic. I played just as many must have genesis games.
oh my god the probotector series was golden, well before the japs ruined the fun for me with their excessive usage of robots with little children inside of them.

but yea... Probotector for the win.

Edit: If I'd own a DS I would consider getting the Trigger very seriously.

Soul Blazer was my very favorite.

Close behind were Act Raiser, Star Fox, and Chrono Trigger.
SMB Word was really good too and that came with the machine. Why is Nintendo the only one that still does that: include a game with every machine?

Chrono Trigger is definately the best SNES game in my opinion.

Too bad it was never released in Europe, which meant I had to play it on an emulator even while I owned an SNES.

SNES was and still is my favorite console for RPGs. I gotta go with Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Final Fantasy III. Still have all 3 cartridges just in case I ever feel the itch.

Super Mario World and Link to the Past, of course, but I've also got the somewhat-obscure-ish Illusion of Gaia sitting quite comfortably at the very top of the list with Tales of Phantasia a little below it.

and yes, I realize that illusion of gaia isn't very obscure, but it doesn't get much mention these days, so I list it as obscure-ish.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger are awesome. I also think Super Metroid speaks for itself.
