Alright since we are naming a few now.

1. Tecmo Secret of the stars (I own this, very few people seemed to have played it, PLAY it ots great as long as you dont mind the ridiculus length and difficulty of the game, haha so hard to figure some stuff out)
2. Ogre Battle (I own 2 copies of this game i love it so much)
3. Treasure Hunter G (Only came out in japan, AND in 1996, amazing snes graphics)
4. Star Ocean (First game with full voice acting sequence)
5. Earthbound(Just like, what, ladder leads to phone, Mr.Saturn)

I love many others a ton as well but these 5 I enjoyed the most with many many close.

Lufia games were great.
Breath of Fire was fun.
Cant not have chrono trigger.
Mario RPG is sweet.

Twisted tails of spike mcfang IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE GAMES. SO very unique and ridiculus.

AS Well using all of this data im going to create a very long and profound list which i will post in the forum of all the MUST play snes RPGS and other games that just must be included.
Ill edit and add more later.

Chrono Trigger will always hold a dear place in my heart, so I'm with everyone who chose that. While Chrono Cross didn't live up to the sequel I always wanted for CT, at least we got Xenogears. Ep 30 of the Retronauts podcast [http://www.1up.com/do/minisite?cId=3156908] is all about CT, and I think it made me a little misty eyed with nostalgia...

Zelda deserves an honorable mention, of course.

(Somehow I find it fitting that one of my first RPG's is also the subject of my first post here :p)

Final Fantasy (3)/6, If only because it was the first legitimate RPG I ever played. I liked Chrono Trigger and FF2, but FF6 really stood out as being one of the best for me.

Even now I still think its a great game, and the story was pretty good for its time.

Rather then listing all the ones I've played I'll mention just the two that had the most effect.

Ogre Battle: Because it completely blew my socks off.

FF 4 (2?). Because it was the first FF I had played. I was amazed because I had always had a chip on my shoulder about the series and it completely surprised me

Shit, I forgot Super Mario RPG. Possibly the closest thing video games will get to an acid trip. [snip]
I would give that honour to Vib Ribbon (psx). Seriously weird game. Pop some psychedelic CD from the Canterbury scene in and off you go. Then try it with Melt Banana's "Teeny Shiny", whoa ...

Chrono Trigger for me too, I've seen all endings, haven't done that with any other game except Fallout.

Secret of Mana deserves a mention too, although mainly because of the 2-player coop.
Correction: Secret of Mana had 3-player coop.

There were a lot of good ones:
- Secret of Mana
- Chrono Trigger
- Final Fantasy 6
- Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
- Tales of Destiny

I put all of the above roughly on equal standing. Each are a completely unique experience and deserve credit in their own way.
