Eddie Izzard is great but George Carlin will always be my favorite.

Lewis Black is next in line as the best living great indignant & angry comedian.

Jeff Dunham. The first live show I've ever been to. And I live in Philadelphia, so I get the chance to see some pretty big shows. I've never even been to a concert. But I didn't pass up the chance to see him. He's my favorite solo comedian.

I love Bill Hicks, he's funny as hell, though my fav is Eddie Izzard
I especially like his DVD Glorious
It's hilarious
1. Bill Hicks
2. George Carlin
3. Joe Rogan
4. Dave Chappelle
5. David Cross

I think it?s the duty of the comedian to find out where the line is drawn and cross it deliberately.
Or, in the case of Hicks, knowing that there is no line. Hicks is also my favourite, by the way.
hicks knew what he saw. he saw people living in bubbles. the worlds they saw weren't real so he made it his job to go around and "pop" those bobbles and bring everybody back to reality :D

Richard Pryor
George Carlin
Lewis Black
Mitch Hedberg
Jim Gaffigan

I have laughed so hard at some of these I was in tears. I have actually seen Black live and almost got to see Gaffigan live but I procrastinated getting tickets and the show sold out. The others are, well they are dead.

I really dig Jim Gaffigan. I think he spawned what I like to call "Lazy Humor". I like Daniel Tosh too, although he gets pretty out there. Brian Regan is good for a comedian who does his best to be clean with his humor. Mitch Hedberg was great while he was alive. I think Brian Posehn has some great stand-up. And Demetri Martin is definitely up there. Dave Chappelle is good, if not just for the fact that he makes traditionally Black humor topics more accessible to a bigger audience.

I've seen a couple of people call out Jo Koy, but I could never get behind the guy. I even went and saw him live, and didn't really laugh all that much.

Thats funny, because it's only the middle two that I completely agree with. I never really got on board with both British and Redneck humor.

ZOMG! someone else has heard of Stephen Lynch on this forum?

My family is a bunch of Rednecks, hence redneck humor

I absolutely HATE Ron White though.
