Favourite TYPE of weapon in FPS?

I, bieng the idiot that I am, will play a game where you "basicly trip over ammo, money, and med-kits" ("Good Job" to who ever can tell others where that was from), and still use the hand gun and ONLY the hand gun, and if I try to use a different gun, I fell the game is to easy, so I go back to the hand gun or the crowbar/wrench or whatever the weapon is and use them. I love the hand guns and said weapons. Don't know why.
Any and all explosives. This is especially so for me in Gears Of War 2, where i'm always first to call for the Motar/Boomshot. Despite being labelled as "cheap", i'm still good enough with such weapons to enact a "Broken Arrow" on my soon to be overrun teammates, with them walking off with nothing but charred eyebrows and intact organs..
Sniper Rifles. Find a good place to snipe, sit there and wait silently for an unsuspecting player to get into the open. 2 seconds later he's waiting for a respawn.
I like pistols as well (I heart mgs3 pistol the most) But when you get right down to it a sniper rifle is really the only way to go in the end.
Grenade Launcher. Call me wacky but I've always enjoyed it when a decent physics engine properly introduces the ability to fling grenades off wall, around the corner, and right up the ass of a suddenly panicked enemy NPC before violently rupturing said orifice.
Team games, I'm a fan of grabbing a sniper and shutting up shop. Free for all, I'd go with either a shotgun for smaller maps or a mid-range head-shot capable automatic rifle for the bigger, more open maps.
